The end of an era and the beginning of another.

I wish I could describe how eternally grateful I am for my parents, professors, family, and friends (and copious amounts of caffeine) practically carrying me through school. That being said, the true glory goes to God. He has led, sustained, and succored me through my time at BYU. This is for Him, for my mom, and for my dad. Thank you for being my greatest champions. I love you.

B.S. in Construction Management. Minor in Business. 🤙💙 taken in Brigham Young University by @ellielorae

February deserves its own post:

- taught my last class at the MTC and started new job as a TA in the CM program 🥹
- drove to AZ with besties to lizard in the sun 🦎
- drove to St Geezy with more besties to lizard in the sun some more 🤪
- did some cool construction things & rode a bus to Reno for one of them👷‍♀️💪😤 (DJ War Dog made an appearance)
- welcomed home two besties from the mish 🤩
- partied with Liv in the snow 🤠
- saw my doggo 😙
- spent more time with more besties 🥳
- learned that Cs get degrees (sorry mom) 🤓
- went to some basketball games 💪
- blasted Imma Be by Black Eyed Peas too many times to count 🫨
- hit a year home from the mish on March 1st 🥹

This month has been good to me. Grateful for the highs 🙌🏻 and the lows 📉 and everything in between 😃👍 by @ellielorae

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking of this idea that as humans we tend to live in a perpetual cycle of categorization. Things need to fit in our heads of one way or another: black/white, good/bad, democrat/republican, right/wrong, etc…

We find comfort in this way of living. We choose the way we want to be and then follow it. And anything that doesn’t fit in the desired category is considered opposition. There is safety and finality here.

But what happens when we discover that something doesn’t quite fit in either of the categories we’ve created? We are uncomfortable. Things feel weird. The uncertainty makes us fearful.

I’ve spent a lot of 2023 discovering that not everything has to fit into one category. A few examples:

You can have a testimony and still have questions.
My mission was amazing, but it was also really really REALLY hard.
You can be a hard worker and still take lazy days.
One mess up (or a few) doesn’t mean your progress (emotional, financial, physical, spiritual) is invalidated.
If someone doesn’t agree that doesn’t mean they’re a bad person.
You can be a faithful follower of Jesus and not want to go to church sometimes.

Life can be unpredictable and hard sometimes. It doesn’t have to be so black and white. Humans are dynamic. We evolve. And unlike God and Jesus, we aren’t always going to be the same yesterday, today, and forever.

But I’m grateful for that. I don’t want to be the same person I am today. Gosh, I pray I’m not the same person in 10 years.

Anyways—this all being said, my hope for 2024 is that I can spend more time getting to know myself and finding comfort in uncertainty. There’s no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone :) by @ellielorae

It’s been a good 18 months in Fresno CA. There’s no greater happiness found than in the service of the Lord #christsfavoritemission
