Some of the design details for the @temporalworks Series A: Romanesque. Thank you to @markchodotcom and @elliothammer for your insights and trust on bringing this project to life! #watchdesign #typography by @elliothammer
What a line-up of @naoya_hida_co.official this year! I will not say too much except strongly recommend everyone drop by @thearmouryhk this weekend to try in person. Getting hands-on with the #TemporalWorks Series A “Fortune” version is a completely different experience from the Sector dial. The Fortune Red is a pure study in reduction. Less is more. Here is what you should know. * The “Zero” dial: It is a high-gloss, vivid red lacquer face with absolutely zero markings or indices. It’s intentionally stripped back to focus entirely on colour and light. * The orienting force: Without numbers or hashes, you’re relying solely on those proprietary “Nib” hands. They’re three-faceted—two polished sides and a matte top—to ensure you can actually read the time against that deep red pool. (Pretty cool detail, TBH) * The case geometry: You still get that killer 37mm monobloc steel case. Because the dial is so minimal, the Zaratsu polishing on the case really pops; the mirror-finished, distortion-free surfaces act as the frame for the red centrepiece. It wears great. * The movement & profile: It runs the same manual-wind Sellita SW210-1, which keeps the whole thing at a very wearable 10mm thickness. It’s got that “navy blazer” versatility but with a massive punch of colour. * The kit: It comes on a Jean Rousseau calfskin strap, but if you’re grabbing one during the launch window, you get the custom Staib steel-mesh bracelet included. It’s bold, it’s meditative, and it doesn’t care about “flexing” technology - it just looks right. Price: $2,500 USD Availability: Exclusively through @thearmouryhk @thearmourynyc Would you rock the sterile red lacquer, or do you prefer the Sector dial’s markers? by @elliothammer

3 years in the making... Temporal Works Series A launching 12/4 at 10am EST by @elliothammer
After three years of development today we’re launching the TYPE 9 ARM “Scattering Sun”. @markchodotcom and I set out to design an elegant dress watch with the innovate @ressence_watches platform of the TYPE 9, the smallest (39mm) watch they’ve made. Limited to 20 pieces, available exclusively through The Armoury. by @elliothammer
The dial design for the Naoya Hida 2C-1 Lettercutter by @elliothammer
Using Naoya Hida & Co’s excellent Type 2 watch as a base, I drew a set of numerals inspired by the art deco architectural details of New York. Kano-san, Naoya Hida’s master craftsman, then hand engraved the numerals into the dial before filling them with synthetic navy cashew lacquer. The Lettercutter watch is a collaboration between Naoya Hida & Co. and The Armoury, named after the craftsmen who specialized in carving letters into stone. by @elliothammer
The Permanent Style magazine is out! Designing this first issue has been a long journey so it was great to see everyone at the launch party last night. Bring on issue two! by @elliothammer
The New York Times just featured a project that Mark and I have been working on for a while. It’s a three way collaboration with our good friend Naoya Hida and new collaborative partner Josh Shapiro. by @elliothammer
