I love me a good murder mystery. I also love watching a group of actors desperately try to hold a show together. So naturally, we put those two things in the same room and added dinner.

The Murder Mystery Murder Mystery is coming to Drip Café on October 23, and I’m excited to share this ridiculous evening with you. I get to perform alongside Elliot Mitchell, Lauren Burawski, Lara Spitelle and Gina Salt, with Drip’s own Greg Vogeley joining us as our special guest star.

We’ve got a magician, a socialite, a medium, some necromancers...and a skeptic who doesn’t quite buy what they’re selling.

Would love to see some familiar faces in the audience. You’ll have a mystery to solve. We’ll have a production to salvage.

Doors at 5:30 PM, show at 6:00 PM. $65 includes dinner and the show.

Oh no! My finely tuned skills as median extraordinaire are giving me VERY bad feelings...that something DELICIOUS, but HORRIFIC, may occur on the evening of October 23rd, in Hockessin, Delaware @Dripcafede. It should be magical, theatrical, totally improvised, and it will sell out, so get tickets soon! taken in Drip Café by @elliotmitchell.actor

Quite the day, working on a self-tape with my co-star, Teddy. I think he mostly wondered why we went into the weird studio room to eat cheese.

I'm shocked, and a little hurt, that my 30-second precinct background role in an episode of Resurrection isn't mentioned in Showtime's post. But still, I can't wait for some more Dexter!! taken in Pier59 Studios by @elliotmitchell.actor

Well THAT'S a relief! Instead I'm working on self-tapes in a small class of really talented actors. Thank you @melmackactingstudio !! by @elliotmitchell.actor

In high school, this stage, this fly deck, and this Drama Department were a home where everyone belonged, and everyone had a role. Amidst the turmoil of growing up, it was special - bursting with creativity, friendship, laughter, and energy.

Forty-six years later, 28 of us (!) reunited where it all began with our director, Tom Beckner, to celebrate, reminisce, and thank the man who gave us so much more than a love of theater. Tom did launch some of us into lives on the stage, but he gave all of us greater confidence, better judgment, and the kind of teamwork that only live theater can teach.

Turns out, a place like this never really leaves you.

This photo of 21-year-old me (the blonde guy in the middle) has been shared quite a bit this week, and it still carries a lot of meaning.

Denison’s improv group, Burpee’s Seedy Theatrical Company, is the oldest collegiate improv group around and is still going strong today. I’m proud ; we were doing our thing long before every college had an improv troupe—and long before new formats were just a Google search away.

I’m surrounded here by some of the funniest people I know. Our ensemble work emphasized taking risks onstage and pushing each other to make bold choices “out on a limb,” knowing the others would jump right in and support it.

It’s a great snapshot of that time—of creative energy, a fuller head of hair, and a group of friends who have since gone on to become leaders in their fields. by @elliotmitchell.actor
