An absolute delight to work with @dublininquirer once more on the cover for the June edition of the newspaper 🗞️ Inspired by the queen of midsummer and June itself, the goddess Áine, who is symbolically represented through flora, the bees and the blue representing the waters of Lough Gur where which she is said to reside 💛 she is not only a sun goddess, but a moon goddess also, which is represented by the phases of the moon placed at each corner of the illustration 🌙 It was a fab opportunity to explore a more pared back style and see how it adapted for print and safe to say I’m delighted with the results 💛 #dublininquirer #goddessaine #irishfolklore #illustration by @ells_art_design

The day that I feel a lot of us wish hadn’t come around so soon, has sadly arrived. The last day of service of @crewbrewco 💔 The impact Crew had on myself and the city of Limerick truly cannot be measured. It is a seismic loss to the city and the many communities they helped to build and cultivate. There’s so much more I could say about this, but I’m going to focus purely on Crew and to let them know how much they are loved and how much they will be missed. They entrusted a young college student all those years ago to design their logo and get their company off the ground. I was the first in a long line of collaborators and suppliers that said yes to a pint as our first meeting, and such strong friendships (and many more pints) blossomed from day one. These guys are the most passionate, hard-working, kindest group of people you could ever meet. To have even played this small part in the Crew story I’ll forever be grateful for. From logo design, menu signs and sign painting - any moment to create with Crew was a moment I cherished. It’s from @anklesmccartney and Jono being so upset that I lost my bright orange hat (guerilla marketing I like to call it) that another managed to be sourced, it’s where I got to chat with my bestie @michelleurbaan properly for the first time and it’s where many a pint and chat was had. It’s arriving on ‘for one’ and leaving hours later after countless hours of chats, laughter and meeting so many new faces. Crew was and always will be a second home to me. It was a place to relax with friends and celebrate the little wins. A friendly face always there to greet you no matter what form you found yourself in. Despite the many obstacles thrown their way from the very beginning, what an incredible 5 years of business they have had. This story should not be ending here, and should be decades long. But to have experienced Crew at all is a blessing in itself. You will forever be loved and missed 💙 #crew #crewbreweryco by @ells_art_design

Delighted to say that for the second year in a row I’ve been selected to take part in the @fedrigoni365 project 💛 An incredible design initiative by @tmstudio_ and @fedrigoni_uk 😊 The overarching theme for this year’s Fedrigoni 365 is ‘opposites.’ This edition consists of two volumes housed in a slipcase. Each volume features designs inspired by opposing seed words. For each date, you’ll find a juxtaposition of two creatives’ works on opposite themes, one in each book. Participants won’t see the opposing design until the edition launches in November. The number I got means a lot to me and I can’t wait to see it beside its opposite!
