So deep in thought, it took him almost 10 minutes to realise that I was right behind him

Many a pebble were thrown across the ice.
You know that WOUb-WoUb-WoUoUb-Woub-Wobob-Wouuub sound, as the bounce echoes/ripples?
That scratches my SOUL.
You can BITE that sound, it is EDIBLE.

Throwback to warmer climates - this little treasure had gotten caught up in a fight with a fountain; a battle he was very much losing.
I scooped him up to safety, and he dried off his wings on my hand for a good 10 minutes.
I'd never been lucky enough to get this close to a Dragon before, what a blessed day for both of us 😊

I think about this sweet baby every day.
I haven't seen him again since I first spotted him out in the middle of the day in late summer (suffering very clearly with mange).
Wildlife rescues on the day were unable to assist me as I was unable to trap him, but they gave fantastic advice on how to TRY to catch him, and how to help with his treatment (once capture was possible).
I can only hope that somebody else stumbled across him and that they fell in love with him as much as I did 🥺
