A historic first at The Garden at Elm Bank. ✨✨
From the ceremony inside the Hunnewell Building enveloped in ethereal white draping to cocktails among the timeless beauty of the Italian Garden, every moment was thoughtfully designed to transform the estate.
As the evening unfolded, guests dined and danced beneath a sailcloth tent nestled among the wildflower meadows, reimagining every corner of the property for an unforgettable celebration.

The perfect addition to a backdrop as elegant as The Gardens at Elm Bank: a Femmes jazz trio ✨

From our cocktail hour set at @sophia.barrett27 and @kayshep06 fairytale wedding celebration🌱🧚

Fun fact: @khsunami and @k.keegs have been playing jazz together for over 10 years (!!!) when they met at Boston University 🐾 and with @greenmtngirl802 on vocals, this trio is unstoppable!!

Soph and Kay took “fairytale wedding” to a whole new meaning this past weekend🧚the most whimsical, elven decor to accentuate the gorgeous foliage at @elmbankevents 💐, these two invited their guests to step into real-life Dungeons & Dragons themed quests! Friends and family dressed up as medieval creatures and in true Ren Faire fashion to honor this couple’s most authentic vision. Congratulations Soph and Kay, and thank you for having The Femmes on your very special day!

Mary Theresa and Owen chose a stunning setting for their wedding, but the people surrounding them are what made the day unforgettable.

There was so much love in every part of it, the kind you could see in the hugs that lasted a little longer, the faces lighting up around them, and the joy that seemed to follow them from one moment to the next.

A beautiful place can set the scene, but it’s the people you love and the way they show up for you that give the day its story. Mary Theresa and Owen had so much of both, and it was an honor to photograph it all.

A reception doesn’t happen in one place. The toast is at the head table, but the best reaction is three tables back. The groom is wiping his eyes with a napkin. His mother is already laughing. The bride is feeding cake to her best friends after feeding her husband, and everyone around them is losing it. The first dance is in the center of the room, but the moment is at the edge, where a friend leans on the back of a chair and watches proudly.

So I keep moving. I watch the room, not just the couple. I wait for the reaction after the line, not the line itself. I learn who the loud ones are, who cries first, and who will pull the bride onto the dance floor at 10:45.

Then the flash comes out, and I get closer.

I don’t ask anyone to do it again. I don’t stop the party for a photo. The energy in that tent was already there. My job isn’t to change it.

It’s to make sure you can feel it again twenty years from now. Once the cake is eaten, all that’s left is the photos of it being eaten by each and everyone that you love.
