Dad: a title I’ve wanted to have for a while now🙏🏽

I don’t do it to be the best runner, I don’t do it to be the fastest either. I do it for my family, to show them where hard work can take you. Every run i push our daughter it’s so rewarding because she truly enjoys it, I’ve ran 13.2 miles with her a few months ago and she don’t cry fuss or anything she’s along for the ride with dad.

Going into this 4miler I wasn’t going there to win I was going there to put out the best effort I had in me. First stroller to cross the line, 19th overall, 5th in men’s, and 1st in my age.

My fiancé also put out her best effort and now she has something to build off of. I’m just inspired by her a year ago gave birth to our daughter, goes to work, cleans and cooks for us and still goes out there everyday and puts her feet on the pavement.

Another deposit today with my love🫶🏽

Alyssa gets all the credit in this hobby, she got me into running officially in 2023, we did a winter race in December that year. And it has changed my way of life and I’m so glad i get to do it with her everyday.

As a former bodybuilder there are similar traits between that and running, and that’s the monotony. Many days the last thing I want to do is go run but I do it anyways because it has to be done and the better and healthier me is waiting on the other side. That was the same with bodybuilding most days didn’t want to train and eat the same foods everyday.

We do eat the same breakfast and lunch everyday but our dinners fluctuate every night but they are the same every week. Weekends we do enjoy some food not on plan. We aren’t following a strict diet or counting macros we are just shooting from the hip and so far it’s working.

Also the thing with me is yes I know I can’t be as big as I used to be and be a the best runner but I still want to have my muscles and be a pretty decent at running also so far so good.

Best shape I’ve ever been in, I feel like an athlete again my body doesn’t feel 15 again but my motor does!

Haven’t posted in a little while, but I like it that way. Nose has been to the grindstone. Rent is due everyday, and there’s no bad days in the gym. Today I just went in wanting to hit shoulders and some miscellaneous things. 2 sets of everything to almost failure then to the sauna for 12min in sauna suit then ran 8miles after that. Busy mornings but we love em!

Trying to stay young for as long as I can, and back to being a freakin athlete. So far so good best shape I’ve ever been in my fitness age is 5 years younger than I am today so we are on track!

Gonna add this, that 8:33 pace was pushing a baby stroller, been training all spring and summer pushing our daughter we gonna be ready for any race. Don’t have to get ready if you stay ready

A week ago I completed the hardest thing I’ve ever done a triathlon. My first one, it was a 1mile swim 🏊🏽 27 mile bike 🚴🏽‍♂️ 6.2 mile run 🏃🏽 , going into it I felt really good I felt prepared and ready my vo2 max had gone up tremendously in the three months of training for this race.

Anyways lap one of the swim I get halfway and panic, outta breath and I looked around and wanted to swim to shore and call it quits. I flipped over on my back and started floating and said to myself get your shit together now you wouldn’t quit on Alyssa or Finnley so figure it out. And I did just that I got through the swim one of the last people out of the water too. Had a lot of ground to make up.

Killed the bike and smoked the run! I finished 3rd in my age group 13th overall! Proud of myself for not only overcoming adversity in the swim but finishing an Olympic triathlon🫡💪🏽

The itch to do another is real I can’t explain how good you feel afterwards it’s just an experience you have to go through on your own it’s amazing by @elmo_re10
