Shooting a performance at the Geffen Contemporary @moca this past weekend made me think of this performance, which took place in the same space a couple of years prior.
It’s difficult to fully take in a performance while photographing it, but the impressions that this one made on me, I will never forget.

I was treated like shit by my boss and another senior photographer when I worked at this museum but I learned a lot.

Locals: LA County residents get free entry after 3 PM.

I haven’t been to the new @lacma galleries yet; having been on staff as a junior photographer at the museum 19 years ago doesn’t quite qualify me for an invite.
I shot this (1) while working there and put myself in it because how else was I gonna show the doors were frosted glass?

(2) behind those doors: this glorious little library full of photo books by @elonschoenholz

The general rule of the urban forest is constant change, but the Hills of Baldwin harbor some exceptions.

this tree was hollowed out years ago in its center by the homeowner, so he could climb on a ladder and trim the top of the tree from its center by @elonschoenholz

@thelabreatarpits is closing on July 6 for a major renovation.

Here’s a before picture from the early 2000s.

The ice age garden in the museum’s interior courtyard. Scan of a Polaroid Type 55, 4x5 pos/neg. Some unplanned solarizing worked out well.
