"We're already best friends. We don't need counseling." That's exactly who this is for.

Being best friends means you communicate well when things are easy. It doesn't automatically mean you know how to communicate when things are hard. Every couple, even the closest ones, has blind spots; patterns from your family of origin, assumptions you've never said out loud because you've never needed to.

A good premarital counselor isn't looking for what's wrong with you. They're helping you find the blind spots before the marriage does.

👉 Save this for the friend who says "we don't need it."

“We both want kids.” Have you asked the next question? 👶

Wanting kids is the general conversation. How many, when, what happens if plans change, and who adjusts their life when the baby arrives is the specific one. Marriage runs on the specific one.

These assignments are not meant to settle everything. They are meant to get the real conversation started before you are in the middle of it.

👉 Save this and take one question on a walk together this week.

Comment “what-if” if this one hit close to home, and share it with someone who is engaged. 👇

"We've talked about all of this already." Have you, though? 🤔

Most couples have talked about kids; fewer have talked about what happens if one of you changes your mind, or if you can't have children. Most have talked about money; fewer have compared actual numbers line by line. Most have talked about family; fewer have named whose opinion carries more weight when in-laws disagree.

The general conversation and the specific conversation are not the same thing. Marriage runs on the specific one.

👉 Save this and try asking the specific version of each question this week.

"What would we even talk about? We already know each other." Here's what actually gets covered.

Money. Roles and expectations. Conflict style. Family and in-laws. Intimacy and children. Every domain comes back to the same core skill: Forbearance — the capacity to make room for your partner's difference without needing them to change first.

These are the conversations that get skipped in the excitement of an engagement, and then show up in year one instead.

👉 Swipe back through and see which one you haven't fully talked through yet.

Closeness doesn't maintain itself. It gets built on purpose.

Intimacy is physical and emotional, and most couples have never talked about either one in specific terms. These assignments make it easier to say what you actually need instead of hoping your partner guesses.

A weekly phones-away date is one of the simplest habits a new marriage can start with.

👉 Save this and pick the assignment that feels slightly uncomfortable. That's the one to start with.

Comment “weekly” if you're putting a date on the calendar, and share this with a couple who is newly engaged. 👇

Welcome to our Marriage Prep series for engaged couples!

Loving each other and being ready to build a life together are two different things. 💍

Love tells you this person is worth building with. It doesn't teach you how to actually build it; the money conversations, the family dynamics, the conflict style, the daily operating system of a marriage.

Most couples spend more time planning the wedding day than the marriage that follows it. One day gets a florist and a seating chart. Decades get whatever you figure out along the way.

Premarital counseling gives your marriage the same intentional planning your wedding is already getting.

👉 Save this to revisit before your next planning conversation.

What problem is marriage trying to solve for you? 💍

Love, companionship, and even family life can exist without marriage. So, why choose it?

For some, marriage is a covenant. For others, it represents stability, accountability, partnership, or legacy.

Whatever marriage means to you, one thing matters: you and your partner need to be clear and aligned on what you’re building together.

At Elra Wellness Group, our Pre- and Post-Marital Counseling Programs are designed to help couples have the conversations that matter, strengthen their connection, navigate challenges, and build a foundation for a healthier, more intentional marriage.

Whether you're preparing for the altar or working to strengthen the marriage you've already built, you don't have to figure it all out alone.

Somewhere between the diagnosis and the schedule, people stopped asking what you like. You are still her. If you want a place with mothers who do not need the backstory, the group is for you.

Four things to do before you sit down at the table: ask for the paperwork early, write your top three, ask how and by when, and remember you do not have to sign that day. Save this for your next meeting.

Grieving what you expected does not mean you love your child less. Many mothers carry both, and the grief can return at birthdays, school transitions, or an ordinary Tuesday. If this is you, you are not alone.

"You're so strong" is meant kindly. It can also mean nobody is checking on you. You can be capable and exhausted in the same day. Swipe for a sentence you can try this week.
