Between the sun and the moon,
I learned that both can exist within me.

Some days, I burn too brightly.
Some days, I barely bloom.

Like the sunflower,
I keep searching for light.

Like the lotus,
I rise from the darkest waters.

This collection is not about choosing one side.
It is about living between them
falling, rising, breaking, growing
and finding beauty in becoming.

Bound in Threads

What began as a simple idea exploring memories of childhood, slowly turned into something much deeper.
It started with playful moments with my Baba: racing games, laughter, the day my Barbie house was destroyed during a play fight.
I was always caught between two sides, told I was “too boyish,” yet still drawn to softness and detail.

But on September 25, 2024, at 8:03 in the morning, everything changed.
My Baba passed away.
Suddenly, this project became something else.
A tribute.
A way to hold onto him. To process grief. To honor our bond.

Bound in Threads is more than a collection,
It’s my story stitched into fabric.
It’s childhood chaos, resilience, softness, masculinity, and love, woven together.
It’s for the one who raised me brave.

To everyone who stood beside me, supported me, believed in me, or simply held space for me, thank you from the deepest part of my heart.
This wouldn't exist without you.

Reeta El Khoury - Bound in Threads

A meditation on love, loss, and the bond between parent and child. Inspired by memories of her late father, the collection weaves together rugged denim, corduroy, and macramé cotton in earthy hues through knotting, weaving, and quilting. The result is tactile, grounded, and full of quiet strength.
