this little project turned out to be the only creative work I contributed to last year. it was difficult to keep connected to working when I couldn't see what work meant anymore inside myself and I quickly lost confidence in my practice too. all prospective projects had fallen through and I wasn't interested in producing scores or designs through mere will. every application I submitted was rejected and slowly I realised this is just what the universe wants for me for a while. I didn't have the drive to drive very much over many months. life dimmed and I deeply understand now how much creative experience in connection to others is vital to my spirit.

I'm really thankful to Tay, Leah and Will for inviting me to join their collaborative journey for UP THERE in November 2024. I was welcomed with open arms into making again and could gently offer different facets of things I'd forgotten about and could do. all the little bits of everything I'd learned glimmered through the cracks. and thanks to universe surprises, the stars pulled through 🌟

Beautiful images of audiences as part of UP THERE (Walyalup). Thank you to the many individuals who contributed their time, histories and sense of belonging in place to form this work. by @elsewherebecca

“Magical”

“The sound was incredible and both it and the video (which paired beautifully) captured this wonderful wistful, spooky, and melancholy-supernatural vibe I am fond of.”

“A process of deep care in the body and the place”

“Breathtaking display of light and sound”
