Sukkot, my favorite holiday🤍

Where we leave the comfort of our homes and put our trust in God. Where emunah, gratitude, and presence all come together. Where we embrace the imperfect, and where joy itself is a mitzvah.

There is so much meaning wrapped into this holiday, and year after year, I find myself loving it even more.

@afshineemrani put it so eloquently: “The sukkah does not promise that nothing can fall on you. It teaches you that you can still feel held beneath an open sky.

The sukkah does not ask me to pretend otherwise. It asks me to loosen my grip. Sit down. Look around. Notice who is at the table. Taste the food. Hear the laughter. Thank God for this fragile, breathtakingly beautiful life while it is actually happening.

Perhaps that is why the Torah calls Sukkot zman simchateinu—the season of our joy. Not because everything has finally been fixed, but because joy was never supposed to wait until everything was fixed.”

You don’t have to justify your diamond choice to anyone.

Natural isn’t “better.”
Lab isn’t “fake.”

They’re two different products with two different value propositions.

One is about origin.
One is about maximizing size, cut, and budget.

The funny part?

Most people arguing about resale have never tried to resell a diamond.

A $15,000 natural diamond doesn’t magically become a $15,000 asset.

The real question is:

Would you rather spend more because someone told you that’s what you’re supposed to do…

Or spend based on what actually matters to you?

There isn’t a right answer.
There is only an informed one.

The aunt who raised an eyebrow was working off a marketing campaign that's been running since the 1940s. The "diamonds are forever, natural diamonds are real" narrative was built by an industry that needed to protect its pricing, not by gemologists.

You don't owe anyone an explanation for a choice that was smarter than the conventional one.

Most people go into a jewelry appointment with zero context on pricing, cert grades, or what the markup actually looks like. So they get flattered into a sale and leave feeling good until the appraisal comes back two years later.

You deserve to walk in with the questions ready. Not because you're difficult, but because you're smart and you negotiate your life in every other area.
