New Trunk for @stoneisland flagship in Rome. Congratulations to @samirbantal @oma.eu @stoneisland on another beautifully designed and thoughtfully curated space. Thank you again for including my work in this ongoing collaborative venture. Photography by @_marcocappelletti In good company with works from: @super.sedia @timteven_studio @timhooijmans @ledongil_workshop Some excerpts from the official press release below: “Stone Island opens its new Rome flagship at Via del Babuino 132, continuing the evolution of its global retail concept developed in collaboration with Samir Bantal and OMA/AMO. Located within a traditional Roman palazzo and spanning 200 sqm across the ground and first floors, the new space translates Stone Island’s culture of research, material innovation and experimentation into a retail environment conceived not only for product discovery, but also for dialogue and community…” “…As with every new generation of Stone Island store, the project also serves as a platform for ongoing creative collaboration. Custom-designed elements include a display trunk by Elvis Wesley, lighting by Tim Hooijmans, a table and stools by Tim Teven, and audio systems developed by Ledongil Workshop, bringing together contributions from designers whose work shares Stone Island’s commitment to research, craftsmanship and innovation. More than a retail destination, the Rome store has been conceived as a place where architecture, product and community converge. It joins Stone Island’s growing network of global flagship stores, each developed as an expression of the brand’s culture of research and as an environment where its continuing exploration of materials, processes and design can be experienced beyond the product itself.” by @elviswesley_

With Dutch Design Week around the corner I look back at the start of my paper research back in 2024. For an exhibition on sustainable earthenware (curated by Crafts Council Nederland) we created several temporary spacial interventions and furniture pieces from reclaimed materials wrapped in paper. Last year I received a grant from the Creative Industries Fund to further explore an array of techniques with the same paper in the context of temporary presentations. The project is called Paper & Impermanence. More soon. Thanks to @stimuleringsfonds @craftscouncilnederland @joynnjoi (the greatest wrapper alive) @_fanliao_ (photo 1,3,14,16,17) by @elviswesley_

Halved Trunk🪞at Stone Island’s flagship store in New York. The store — designed by @oma.eu @samirbantal— features my custom Halved Trunk, which is used to display Stone Island’s special collections. Much 🩶 to @samirbantal @oma.eu @stoneisland for continuing to envision and include my work in the roll-out of this amazing retail concept in stores around the globe. Once again in good company with works from: @super.sedia @timhooijmans @timteven_studio by @elviswesley_
