We hiked around the Resciesa and the Mont de Sëura areas of Val Gardena while staying in lovely little Santa Cristina and barely scratched the surface on what there is to see here. The views and hiking are amazing everywhere, and there are so many options. We were feeling it from our hiking at Passo Giau and kept our hikes shorter and gentler, taken in Resciesa by @em.frou

We spent two nights at Berghotel Passo Giau above Cortina for some hiking, relaxation, and amazing views in every direction. This family-fun hotel has six rooms and we loved the hospitality and home-cooked regional food served there. We had fun hanging out at dinner with Claudia, whose family built the hotel and has run it for decades. Her husband cooks amazing meals in the kitchen - breakfast and dinner are for hotel guests only served in a cozy dining room. taken in Berghotel Passo Giau by @em.frou

I can’t emphasize enough just what an impact the Rotary Youth Exchange program has had on my life - from my exchange year in Switzerland over 20 years ago to hosting @mabel_venere_ this past year. It has added so much joy, adventure, and love to my life. It has expanded my world, my family, and my heart beyond measure. We love you, Mabel! It was so fun to see you in Italy and we can’t wait until the next time we are all together. @rye5020 by @em.frou

Snaps from the 8 days we spent on our @leboatvacations on the Venice lagoon. We spent two nights on Mazzorbo/Burano, a night in Chioggia, a night in Alberoni (Lido), two nights in Sant’Elena in Venice, and a final night in Casale sul Sile before returning our boat. This was our third Le Boat trip (we’ve previously done Canal du Midi and Alsace/Lorraine areas in France) and I highly recommend it as a way to slow down and explore a place - you don’t have a choice since the boats don’t really go more than 6 knots (12km/hr) by @em.frou

We spent half a day exploring Murano, the island of glass. Back in the 13th century, Venice moved its glass making trade to this island to prevent the furnaces from burning down Venice. It has remained the center of the glass blowing trade ever since. There, we attended a glass workshop where we each made a flower and tumbler while learning different glass design skills, from using various tools to glass blowing to shaping different designs. taken in Murano, Veneto, Italy by @em.frou

Venice views never get old. We really loved staying in a marina on the eastern side of Venice near quiet neighborhoods, quaint local markets, and beautiful parks, but within walking distance to the tourist center by @em.frou
