✨ BIG NEWS FOR E-MUM ✈️ 🇺🇸🎬

We are having our INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE at the incredible @austinfilmfest and we’re officially IN COMPETITION. 🥹❤️

I’m still trying to process that sentence.
Austin FF, I cannot wait to meet you. 🤠

I have so many people to thank that I could probably make another film just listing their names.

To my absolutely extraordinary cast @em_jaxx Aalia Afshar and @alexandranell_ thank you for giving these characters so much heart.

To @dvsperth, my partner in life, co-producer, editor and the person who has lived through every single stage of this madness with me TE AMO. ❤️

To my incredible creative team and crew who believed in this little story and gave it everything they had, specially to @lewispotts my friend and super talented cinematographer 🎥✨ and to every person behind the camera, in front of the camera, in the edit suite, on set and behind the scenes this film exists because of you.

And to everyone who has watched it, championed it, programmed it, nominated it, awarded it, talked about it, shared it or recommended it THANK YOU. A million times over. 🙏🏼

From its world premiere at @cinefestoz through its journey around Australia, and now to its first big international adventure…
I genuinely cannot believe how far E-MUM has travelled 🧳

I recently had the pleasure to style my gorgeous friend & director Emma Jackson for the launch of Dalliance, the new Australian series which features an incredible cast & creative crew. I love it when Emma’s work means launches & events, because I get to hang with her and play dress ups.

For this event, I put together her look from @shonajoy @dinosaur_designs @katespadeny and other jewellery from my personal collection.

Dalliance is streaming now on @paramountplus
- I watched it in 2 sittings over a couple of evenings, and I regret not taking my time and making it last longer, because I loved tuning into the story & its characters, but I couldn’t stop watching…it’s so good! 💙

Last December I was lucky enough to join this amazing adventure - directing the second half of Dalliance for @roadshowroughdiamond and @paramountplusau - working alongside the funniest, most generous and wildly talented bunch of people.

Thank you for everyone’s support, collaboration, guidance and laughter along the way. I’m so proud of what we’ve created and I’m couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world on August 27th! 🎥❤️🚀 by @em_jaxx

Last night we celebrated at the WASCA Awards, and my heart is absolutely full ❤️✨ @wascreenculture

Our film E-Mum took home Best Performance Under 18, and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of the wonderful Aalia. What an extraordinary performance, but beyond that, what an incredible young human. Her warmth, confidence, and authenticity lit up the room, and her acceptance speech was, without a doubt, the highlight of the night. 💛

And then... my best friend, creative partner, and the love of my life @dvsperth brought home the Independent Spirit Award. There couldn’t be a more deserving recipient. This is a beautiful tribute to someone who has dedicated his life to storytelling, filmmaking, mentoring, and lifting others up. I am so unbelievably proud of you, baby. ❤️

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees who continue to make our industry so vibrant, specially to:
✨ @radheya_j and @jayjayaustralia for Trading Cards
✨ @taniachambersproducer for Invisible Boys
✨ My wonderful producer and friend @mark_zanosov for Blunt
✨ The incredible @zzzpepp for Birthright

It was such a joyful evening celebrating the talent, passion, and generosity that make the WA film community so special.

A huge thank you to @revfilmfest Revelation Perth International Film Festival, @lunapalacecinemas and @richard_sowada for bringing us all together and creating a night that reminds us why we love this industry so much 🥂🎉

I went to sleep with a very happy heart. Here’s to many more stories, many more celebrations, and this incredible community we get to call home. 🎬❤️ by @em_jaxx

I had the enormous privilege of directing Sam in my first (and second... and third) episode of TV on The Twelve, and I will be forever grateful I got to witness his brilliance up close.

Leading up to my first shoot day with him, the idea of giving this legend any kind of note was nothing short of terrifying. I mean, what could I possibly offer Sam Neill that he hadn’t already thought of himself? But I did, and was met with his curious, kind, open, collaborative and generous spirit.

We got to play.
An experience I will pinch myself over for ever.

Watching him work and watching him with people was a masterclass in what it means to be excellent—as an actor and as a human.

Sam—you are a class act. A true gentleman. I’m so thankful I got to be in your presence.

What a profound loss. My heart is with everyone who loved you and was loved by you.

Vale Sir Sam ❤️🕊️

Still taking this in ✨

So excited to finally share that E-MUM has been officially selected for Revelation Perth International Film Festival and Sparrowland Film Festival 🎬 @revfilmfest & @sparrowlandshortfilmfestival

And alongside this incredible news, we’ve also received a nomination for @wascreenculture – Best Performance Under 18 🤍

Looking back at all these festivals feels a little surreal.

E-Mum has already taken us on such an incredible journey, from its world premiere at @cinefestoz and taking home Cinewest Best Short to being selected for @flickerfest and have the privilege of screening under the stars in Bondi in Sydney and also sharing for the very first time the film here in Perth alongside such a talented filmmakers was really something. 🎉

And as always, being part of @wamadefilmfestival felt like finally arriving home ❤️

Huge gratitude to our cast, crew, supporters and everyone who has believed in this story. Love you so fucking much ❤️‍🔥

Perth → Brisbane ✨
