Does my head look big in this?

Don’t get me wrong, my job is a hustle, has no security, is exhausting & wet wet suits 🤢 But how lucky am I that this is my office. “How was work?” “Soggy & I loved it”

Forever grateful ✨ by @em_lonsdale

Grasmere 3 Peaks, I love guiding this route, dropping back down to the valleys in between Loughrigg, Silver How & Helm.

A lovely day & the whole group stuck together all the way round. by @em_lonsdale

Lovely Langdale ♡

Do you have places that just feel like magic when you visit them? Langdale is one of those for me, I smile on every single drive up the valley despite the chaos that is often ensuing on the road in.

Mooching about, part jogging, mostly just enjoying it for myself as I wasn’t at work. Woolly bullies, the best views & another released helium balloon rescued from the wild. Leaving it a little better than I found it. ♡ by @em_lonsdale

Work lately, gosh I love spring!

Ghyll scrambling, rainbows, caving & my Friday night monkeys who would much rather be tied to the wall than actually climb. (I was actually teaching them a new knot but it lead to dangling & then they rebelled & refused to come down) by @em_lonsdale

A little cold water therapy & starting wedding planning 🍾 by @em_lonsdale

03.05.26 Camping on a beautiful evening in the Lake District ended in visiting my Pa in hospital in the middle of the night.
Thankfully he’s doing loads better but it was a reminder of how fragile life is, we’re here for a good time not a long time. Much love to you all 🤍 by @em_lonsdale

Decided to have a catch on posts so I’ve got something to look back through on a rainy day.

Coledale 10 Peaks, one of the more challenging routes I guide regularly in the Lake District. Up down up down, fabulous views tho! 21km 1700m elevation 🧭 by @em_lonsdale

Work lately 🤍
Back on the hustle but fluppin’’eck this lovely weather has helped.
As shiny as being an outdoor instructor looks, it’s still hard work. I am immensely grateful to get to spend my days working outside in such beautiful places tho. by @em_lonsdale

🎈Thanks is for all birthday wishes 🤍

I spent my actual birthday working a double but was plenty spoiled either side. At what stage does one become wiser along with older? by @em_lonsdale

🧭 Attempting to get ourselves lost day.

I like to try & fight skill fade by sticking my head fully in a map once in a while.

Mooching about giving each other the tiniest of features to find, leaving the hill a little better & rocking festival sunnies I found kicking about in my car as I forgot my normal ones.

Glad the southerners got to see a little sunshine up norf’ for once 🤍 by @em_lonsdale

Easter holiday done right ✅

Sunshine, bloomin Baltic & very windy… North East in April.

Friends, beach days, castles, boats, puffins, litter picks, dolphins, surfing, beautiful coast & being made into a sand mermaid 🤍 by @em_lonsdale

To the people who call Catbells an “easy Wainwright”… bahahaha such a nuanced statement.

Shortly after leaving Keswick yesterday Rebecca (my fellow guide) & I looked at each other sideways with a knowing “holy crap it’s windy”. Wind that strong at valley level equals a VERY windy summit.

We split into 2 groups, one taking a scenic lakeside route & the other heading up with the understanding that it would be minging & we may have to turn around & bail back the way we came if it wasn’t safe.

We were getting buffeted about on the way up, everyone was briefed on how to make it less likely to get blown over & to the summit we went.

There was no way to walk the last couple of meters the wind was so strong so a little crawling may have been done. We then retreated back along the path as there was no safe way of continuing the planned route.

The rest of the day was accompanied with slightly wild grins on our faces of an adventure just the right side of exciting.

Catbells is only 451m tall but is a scramble in sections & still need to be treated like the other Lakes mountains. Our group were all sure footed, fit & keen otherwise I wouldn’t have offered it as an option. I hope everyone else had such a fun (& soggy) day yesterday, I can’t imagine how windy it would have been on the larger summits 🤍 by @em_lonsdale
