If you know me I can almost guarantee you have heard me say the phrase “I feel the most like myself at PGC.” Reflecting back on the summer I can promise you that is still 100% the truth. Being in a gym full of people who exude the same love for the game as I have makes me feel right at home. Coming off of finishing my playing career this past season, I was unsure if PGC would feel the same as it had before. I was worried I might feel sad or bitter about basketball being over for me. Thank goodness I was wrong. PGC somehow felt more impactful than ever before. I found out the only way I can give back to basketball now is through giving my knowledge to the next generation of hoopers and showing them what true passion for the game looks like.

So, if you were a PGC athlete that I had this summer or either of the summers before, please know this: you all fuel my fire for this game. I could not be more thankful for every single athlete I have come in contact with in the past 3 years. I have learned more from y’all than you could ever learn from me. You all have impacted me so much. Thank you.

To the staff I had the privilege of working with this summer, thank you all. What an honor to get to share this unique experience with all of you. I have never met a more selfless group of people in my life.

Until next summer ✌🏻❤️‍🔥 @pgcbasketball @bealight_pgc by @emalee.smith52

See ya ✌🏻🏀💜 #31

This post took a while. Mostly because letting go of the sport that has been there for me my whole life is a hard pill to swallow. I am so grateful for every teammate and coach I have ever had. Without the highs and lows of it all from the time I was in 2nd grade till now as a college senior, I wouldn’t have made it to a school and team that I have loved playing for. The past 4 years flew by but I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

To everyone who supported me along the way. Thank you. I would not be here without you.

To my college teammates, past and present, you drove my will and my fire to pursue greatness everyday. You all taught me what it means to be a true teammate and friend. Thank you for that. I will be forever grateful.

To my family, thank you so much for everything. You spent so much of your time, money, and energy just to see me pursue the sport I love. You are the real MVPs. I love you and thank you.

A summer well spent. An incredible 3 months, but I would have to say coaching at PGC was the highlight of the summer. It was awesome getting to step outside my comfort zone and meeting new people with the same aspirations as me. #trainaccordingtoyouraspriatons @pgcbasketball by @emalee.smith52

11 days ago my brother took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Since then he and @hutchdaclutchh have been killing it at the Naval Academy. Boys, we couldn’t be prouder. Thank you for your service ⚓️🇺🇸 taken in United States Naval Academy by @emalee.smith52
