3 years alcohol free today!

Three years ago, I woke up feeling seriously hungover and decided it was time for a break, I was sick of hearing myself say “I’ll drink less next time”. I’d try one month without alcohol. But the more I thought about it, the more I wondered, what’s a month really going to change? So I challenged myself to go a full year.

That first year came with its own challenges, breaking old normalities.

But somewhere along the way, I realised I didn’t need alcohol. My best self is a sober self. Anything I used to do drunk, I can do sober, give me the karaoke machine and the dance floor.

That one year felt so good, I kept going. I’ve come to love the challenge of showing up fully as myself, and knowing for the past 1095 days I’ve woken up feeling fresh every single day.

I read a quote that said “I’ve never regretted not drinking”, and it’s so true.
