Have you ever encountered a supernatural experience and thought of spooking your friends with the story?

Ima-Jinn-ing is a hybrid drawing and writing session that invites participants into the world of the folkloric, the haunted, and the unseen. Drawing from South Asian mythology, urban legend, family lore, and personal experience, we’ll gather to share supernatural encounters - the jinn in the trees, the story your grandmother warned you about - and then bring our own creatures to life on the page.

This workshop is free for all. We encourage minimal waste, so please bring your paper, sketchbooks, or other drawing instruments along with your creativity with yourself. We will have A4 sheets, basic pointer pens, pencils, and erasers available from our end if needed.

Nani Ghar Drawing Room is a weekly drawing series where we create and share art together. This series is inclusive for all people wanting to make art in a judgement free zone. No prior skills required, just your imaginations!

The Drawing Room is also a community-led initiative, so feel free to propose what you’d like to do next. This is also an opportunity for anyone who wants to lead a workshop! If you have an idea, and would like to lead a workshop, please reach out, the team will be there to support you in planning and facilitation.

Eman Farhan reviews Rabeya Jalil’s solo show, “Lines and Language” which was showcased at Canvas Gallery, Karachi from 25th November 2025 to 4th December 2025.

“As her work gravitates toward abstraction where paint itself becomes the artist’s primary concern, the trajectory reminds us of American Abstract Expressionism and Action painting of the 1940-s. Dutch American artist Willem de Kooning (d. 1997) once described flesh as “the reason oil painting was invented.” However, Jalil’s preference for acrylic paint is closely tied to her interest in exploring the medium’s urgency and gesture. Acrylic dries quickly and can be diluted, peeled, or scrubbed away in mere seconds. It enables her to slip and scratch into wet paint and observe how time alters its residue. She describes this process as the “joy of painting”.” @emanf4rhan

my weekend in Lahore 💌 + my manuscript 💌
this year i got the chance to perform a poem of mine at LLF, along my cohort of insanely talented poets. i also won runner up! 🌹😭 big shout out to my mentor, @usman_andthesepoems 🌷 usman, thank you for your wonderful guidance, attention and care, your finesse! im so grateful to learn from you. you’re the goat !!! 🐐

@sara_m_zaidi @pakistanypl sara and michael worked tirelessly to make this all happen. despite the odds, which were plentiful, but it is in these exact times we need poetry more than ever. thank-yous aren’t enough!
