Chasing My Grandmother is for those of us who grew up without a blueprint.

And yes, I’m simultaneously working on two manuscripts. Because there’s been two books sitting heaving on my chest, pleading with me to be written for years.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself, because I’m really living inside of a prayer I’ve been making since I was old enough to hold a pen. 🌻

Subhanallah Wa Bihamdihi Subhanallahil Adheem.

I started this year with a goal to land four articles in a major magazine.

I love when I undersell & over deliver because how have I written 53 articles !!

Alhamdulilah for a year of play, and of reminding myself that everything is easy when I’m in alignment. Open hand. Open heart. by @emanidil

A person I care for deeply sent me the first slide, after a weekend of difficult conversations. It’s touched how I see everything these last few months.

Alhamdulilah for the ones that know us, see us, and are of us. by @emanidil

Left it all to the Most Merciful, and it came back better than I could have asked 💗Alhamdulilah for the ones who see you as you are, and remind you when you forget. by @emanidil

HIJABI MUST READ! 📖 @voguearabia @yyh.care @m.mahrez_ @emanidil

Hijab Haircare is IMPORTANT — and we’re here to talk about it. As hijabis, many of us don’t know where to begin when it comes to haircare. There’s little conversation around how our lifestyle can impact our scalp and hair health, and even fewer products truly designed with our needs in mind.

Here’s a detailed Hijab Haircare guide we were interviewed for by @voguearabia — featuring YYH’s Superseed Scalp & Hair Oil, tips, and other standout products.

Giving love to fellow women-owned brands made by hijabis for hijabis, like @taj.crown with their innovative 3D printed headband and @velascarves with their bamboo undercaps.

Thank you @voguearabia @emanidil for featuring this important conversation 🫀🫀🫀🫀

Six months of nurturing every version of me. Of the greatest love i’ve ever known. Ya Rahman, keep me soft. by @emanidil

Writing has always felt like a dream-like state for me. A secret world, that’s mine alone. And I hate sharing 😅 But I realize i’ll never find a literary agent if I don’t start letting these words see light.

An excerpt from my work in progress, that needs so many edits, but that i’m still proud of. Choppy sentences and all. Bismillah. by @emanidil

To be a woman who wanders.

To know when you’re being called home.

I don’t know where the last few years have gone.

I wouldn’t change a thing. by @emanidil

Something that I’m learning is the importance of creating environments that allow me to thrive. And sometimes that looks like spending five days at a beautiful beach side resort, working on my manuscript. 🌞

Here’s to setting intentions and working softly to bring goals to fruition. Thank you for the beautiful stay @explorarkohsamui

🌻for the serial-overthinkers. who are still learning to trust the voice in their head that’s begging them to create.
