How great is our God? 🌌

Last Sunday, we got a glimpse of the answer. Clayton, a young astrophotographer, brought his pictures and his wonder to share in our house.

To go outside and take a breath and not be poisoned or choking, that is a miracle. The chances of that happening are incomprehensible. And yet here we are. Breathing. Known. Loved.

That’s what Thanksgiving really is. Not just gratitude for the good things in our lives, but awe at the God who holds all of that in His hand and is still somehow mindful of us.

He made us. We are His. And He is good 🙌

Your dream has enemies, and your God is bigger.

🦸 Know the size of your God: He is more than a Superhero, He has no rival, and we fight from victory.

🛡️ Know the scope of your battlefield: spirit, soul and body. Real spirituality is Christlikeness.

🎭 Know the strategy of your enemy: religion, mammon and self-sufficiency, each reaching for God’s place.

The dream God plants in you can be derailed. Three spiritual dynamics have always worked to steal it, each quietly trading something real for a counterfeit, all of them reaching for God’s place. Jesus faced all three in the wilderness.

Each Sunday, we’ll name the stealer and hand back the real: real worship, real wealth, real wisdom, the life the Father, Son, and Spirit actually give. Hold onto the dream and discern enough to disarm whatever comes for it.

Your purpose is collective first!

🤝 Your Purpose Is Together ➔ Christ gave the gifts to the church, and whatever God put in you was given toward a body you are part of.

🌱 Your Purpose Is Taking Shape ➔ Still becoming, mature rather than flawless.

🍞 Your Purpose Is Tasted ➔ God fits imperfect parts together perfectly, and people taste the result. God uses the church for others to meet Him!

Connection does not happen by accident.

You can be surrounded by community and still feel completely alone, unless you’re intentional about it.

🕊️ Intentional Opening ➔ The veil is torn and so the way into God’s presence has been open since the cross.

🫂 Intentional Opportunity ➔ Connection grows when people start paying attention to the people right in front of them.

God calls us to think of ways to motivate one another toward love and good works. That’s not just for pastors.

👣 Intentional Ownership ➔ Nobody can take your step for you to Taste Connection. Taste is the one sense nobody can use on your behalf. We can create the opportunity. The choice stays yours.
