It seems that I wrote my way into a hybrid between a crime-doc and a short film. It revolves around a childhood memory of a 2003 crime documentary about Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace’s (The Notorious B.I.G.) untimely deaths. My young heart was touched most specifically by Biggie’s mother, who demanded that her son’s murderer be found. Over twenty years later her passionate demand still remains fashioned in my spirit. I wanted to create a performance that surrounded her passion and decided to write a short mock-crime documentary echoing the past, about a slain student-rapper Morris Zane. Thank you so much to the cast and crew. What a fun time. This is “Two Sides.”

Happy 2026 friends. Been sitting on a whole lot for a while and I’m deciding to get things started. This is an adapatation from a scene from “Blue Valentine,” originally featuring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. We tried our best. Meditating on a year since last Ramadan…I welcomed a lot of forgiveness into my life and thought about mortality as my parents turned 60. No matter how much you love and cherish someone or something, you will never know how good it is until it’s gone. I hope that during these heightened times my peers and friends are able to embrace perspective, uniqueness, and community…and let’s FORM community, not just have conversations about it. Let’s militantly walk in our purposes. - MB

Happy new year friends. I’ve started a new journey of filmmaking and I’ve wanted to share this for a while. I decided to use a class assignment as an opportunity to write my first short film called “The One That Got Away.” There was a morning in which I was panicking, struggling to find my keys and the emotion was so palpable that I figured I could create a concept around the feeling. It is about a troubled artist struggling to get to the biggest job in their career. They ultimately lose the opportunity. The vision dies at a certain point because of location, but still wanted to give it to you raw. So grateful for the super talented and gifted @orgil.tt who brought the vision to life. Also thank you to @paolo.nicks we were a great team.
