You’re not really back at the beginning, sweet friend, even if it feels like a loop, (ugh, can’t believe I’m here again!).
Look again…it’s actually a spiral. 🌀
You’re on higher ground.

Throughout these sessions, participants will embark on a comprehensive exploration of self-care and strength using trauma-sensitive yoga practices. Guided by empathetic instructors, each class equips attendees with practical tools for managing emotions, thoughts, and body sensations. By blending movement with guided relaxation techniques, participants will develop the ability to deeply rest and connect with a sense of calm, assurance, and build trust in their body.

As with any eMBER class, this approach emphasizes your autonomy, empowering you to set your own pace and boundaries without pressure, while delving into
essential resilience-building skills. By integrating evidence-based techniques such as mindfulness and yoga with the transformative power of community connection, participants will acquire practical tools to navigate life’s challenges authentically.

Join us as we nurture resilience within ourselves and the LGBTQIA+ community, especially during these challenging times. Together, we can progress toward healing and empowerment within this Trauma-Sensitive framework.

EMBER is a holistic approach that respects the mind-body connection. Through gentle exploration, we tap into the body’s innate wisdom for healing and resilience.

“Ember training combined the most recent trauma research, historical perspectives, and first-person narratives to give a full picture of how to best to consider teaching populations who have experienced trauma, all while making no one a victim, no imposed ideas of “us/them” or “broken/fixer”. Thank you for this. ”
— Kate Silver

“This program has allowed my healing process to come full circle and I feel immensely blessed to have participated. ”

Grounding “I am here” breath. Come home to yourself 🩷

Useful, portable grounding, stabilising practice.
You could also breathe to the highest point on your body and breathe down to the lowest point on your body. It doesn’t necessarily have to be your feet :)

this practice is often good if we’re feeling activation in our nervous system, or if we’re feeling like our attention or energy is very far away or scattered.

“I finally finished my Masters in Social Work in 2021 and have made an effort to tailor my work and learning to meet the needs of individuals who have experienced developmental and complex trauma.

Last week, I had a client who shared a challenging experience and in reflecting on my professional response, I started to be curious as to where I learned to do things a bit differently. I racked my brain. It was not my [social work] schooling or the trauma class in school. It was not even my EMDR training or other trauma trainings I have had.

Though I have not taught an official EMBER yoga class in some time, I realized it was during my time in EMBER that I learned these things and use them every day that I work. I suppose I just think of them as the simple things now.”
