We cannot express enough how much love and passion went into this wedding film. And we mean it when we say film. This is a 9-minute Highlight Film, and in all our years of filming weddings, we have never delivered one quite this long.

After more than 12 years of documenting weddings, and growing into my mid-30s, I (Danie) have started to understand these moments differently. When I first started filming weddings, the demand was often for a quick highlight. Three minutes or less. Something beautiful that captured the best moments of the day.

And while there is absolutely a place for that, I find myself wanting something more now.
I want to preserve the day.
I want to tell the story of the day.
I want you to hear the voices, feel the energy, remember the people who were there, and experience what it felt like to be in that moment.

Because these films aren’t just for the couple to watch next year. They’re for the families who will watch them years from now. For the people who weren’t there. For the children and grandchildren who will want to know what that day looked and sounded like.

To us, that’s what makes a wedding film an Heirloom.

We were incredibly honoured, and genuinely so proud, to have been chosen to document Natalie and Philip’s wedding day. And this film would not have happened without the wonderful referral from Alicia Keats, or the deep connection we built with Natalie and Philip from our very first meeting.

Some couples simply trust you with their wedding.
Others trust you with their memories.
Natalie and Philip gave us BOTH, and we don’t take that lightly.

After more than a decade behind the camera, it’s time to share something that’s been quietly growing behind the scenes...

**Eastowest Wedding Films has become Ember & Alchemy Films.**

This wasn’t a decision made overnight. Eastowest has been in this industry since 2014. It’s where I learned, grew, celebrated hundreds of incredible love stories, and built a career I’m deeply grateful for.

But over the years, my filmmaking and the team has evolved.

We have grown into a team becoming less interested in creating wedding videos that follow a formula, and more inspired by crafting films that feel honest, cinematic, and deeply personal. The quiet glances. The imperfect laughter. The moments that can’t be staged.

**”Ember” represents the warmth that remains long after the celebration ends the enduring love between two people and the memories that continue to glow long after the last dance.**

**”Alchemy” represents transformation, turning fleeting moments into something that lasts for generations.**

Together, they reflect the kind of films we want to create: timeless, emotional, and entirely unique to every couple.

We had the absolute pleasure of capturing one of our wedding couples’ next adventure: their long-awaited new addition to the family. 🥹

This has been such a beautiful pregnancy, filled with so much love, excitement, happiness and family. Thank you for trusting us to help you share another incredibly special announcement with the world. It means so much to be invited back to tell another chapter of your story.

They came to us with a concept they had seen and loved, and together we brought it to life, recreating the idea while adding our own personality and our own stylistic choices in the edit.

From wedding days to growing families, we feel pretty lucky that our work sometimes gets to become part of people’s lives beyond the day we first meet them.

Cecil Green Park house is a historic Tutor-style estate at UBC, surrounded by beautiful gardens with sweeping views towards the ocean it has the feel of a private country side, manor with elegant heritage architecture, fireplaces, landscape, grounds, terraces, plenty of indoor and outdoor space for a wedding.
