my first friendship cup In The Books

Holy shit. that’s the first thing that comes to mind when i try to summarize the past few weeks of my life. this project means so much to me, its so much more than just an instagram post. it’s an ode to the ladies and gentlemen who host and attend Friendship Cup. it is a stance against AI. the time spent on this, is a reward to myself for the time i’ve given others. it’s an attempt to spotlight those who work tirelessly on their cars just to get one more lap on the track. it’s a documentation of friendship and loyalty. and it’s a thank you to everyone who has, and who continues to support me. i can not thank you all enough for the kind words of encouragement you’ve sent my way. the handshakes at car meets and random dms telling me to keep it up, those things are not fleeting moments to me, they’re comments that i’ll carry with me the rest of my life.
a little more about this project:
each photo is a 1 of 1 film print i took; carefully cut and paste on original magazine ads. if i fucked up, and trimmed a little too much off the ends, there is no do-over. i made it a challenge for myself to only print one copy of my film negatives. each polaroid is a one of one original. everything you see was carefully curated; i spent countless hours in antique store looking for magazines that would best suit this project. i’ve been on the fence for awhile now about turning this into a bigger, more extensive project, but i knew if i didn’t put this out here now, it would sit in my archive for ages. so i ask you all to meet me where im at now, and enjoy by @emberetta

what do you do when you accidentally rewind a roll half way through shooting it? you panic and turn it into a double exposure roll. here are some of the salvageable slides:
i don’t even know where to start when it comes to sharing my photos from this weekend; let alone what i can say that would be an appropriate length for an instagram caption. to keep it brief, thank you to everyone involved in putting on such a remarkable event this weekend. thank you to incredible host, jake, and the community he has created and fostered. thank you to the drivers who work tirelessly on and off the track to maintain their cars, only to drive them into the ground in 2-3 days. thank you to anyone in a 10 foot radius of me this weekend who was kind enough to tolerate my 15 cameras pointed at them. and overall, thank you to each and every individual i met this weekend. i don’t think i can emphasize enough how truly kind everyone was. i like to think this won’t be my last friendship cup, but even it was, it’s something i’ll remember forever by @emberetta

in a really weird spot creatively, where i don’t think think anything i make is “worth” sharing. i’ve been sitting on about 25 rolls of film, starting and stopping projects with them almost daily, and i just wanted to share SOMETHING while i figure out a way to get out of this slump hahah. while you all wait for me to get through my quarter life crisis, here are some FSC4 polaroids im really proud of. film supplied by none other than @shootfilmflorida by @emberetta

FILM FRIDAY :D (a little late) portra 800-i always keep one of these on hand because of its universal capabilities. typically known as a night time film, because of its film speed, it also works beautifully in the day when you expose appropriately. it is typically known for capturing the best “true to color” skin tones. by @emberetta
