Avoiding the Requiem spoilers and going back to the game that got me into the franchise, Resident Evil 4.

No matter how many times I play the opening village sequence, it never gets any less tense.

RE4 is a masterpiece in cinematic horror.

I was ten or eleven years old when Gears of War 2 came out. I had never been as excited for a game as I was for that one. I still remember the anticipation of the release date and getting out of school to go pick it up when it finally hit stores.

Leon’s sections of Resident Evil Requiem serve as a nice change of pace from Grace’s sections, but don’t let the stronger abilities fool you. If you are not careful with Leon’s resources, especially as the story professes further, you will find yourself stressed and scrambling just like you would as Grace.

Requiem demands strategy when playing as both characters, and punishes those who get over-confident.

Such an incredible experience that forces the player to slow down and play the game as intended.

Resident Evil Requiem is a beautifully unnerving experience so far. Grace’s sections are seasoned with a level of tension that feels so real you could almost grab it through the screen. Leon’s sections are a challenging, high-octane
reprieve from the stressful walks through the corridors as Grace.

The game blends perfectly all the best gameplay elements of the franchise. I’m eager to see where the story and the gameplay goes.

As I am still in the thick of my first run, along with many of you, NO SPOILERS PLEASE.
