Day 13 of letting ALTA style me for work. @alta Wow, I did something 13 times in a row? Weird. One thing I do have to say: committing to styling for work has led me to change my relationship with jewelry, due to not being able to wear outrageous *clothings*. I feel that relationship transforming. Day 12 of letting ALTA help style me for work. @alta I only did it like this because Alta put the dress shirt on top of a button down even though I had it tagged as “outerwear”. But I thought, okay whatever, let’s try it and see if there’s any way of making it look like something. I still don’t know if I would choose anything like this ever again, but, I liked it. Day 11 of letting ALTA help style me for work. @alta I often find myself surprised by how much I enjoy an outfit I didn’t expect to. This was one. I guess, sometimes, simple is okay. I guess. Even though this is not simple for most people. It is simple for me. —— Just a tidbit: I’ve been wearing scarves as hip wraps for years. I don’t think of it as a skirt (though it could be) - so much as a hip wrap. It makes me feel like I’m wrapped in a blanket all day, and provides some belly support/comforting if it’s a day where that’s needed. You simply take a scarf, pashmina or even a small blanket, wrap it around you perpendicular to the floor, making sure to keep the ends up high and tucked. The end that you’re wrapping around you, you can twist it a little and tuck it in. Then use a belt to secure. It’s not the most bathroom friendly, and it may fall off over hours. But with the belt it is fairly secure and it makes you feel comforted. I used to do this for Ren Faire outfits too, over a corset and long skirt. How historically accurate it is, I don’t know.
