mom,

i never thought this time would come so so soon. you deserved so many years of a great, amazing life. you deserved so much more than what your life had to offer.

i remember sitting in the kitchen with you while you made dinner. we would play one song on repeat. over. and. over. it was “For Good” from the Wicked musical. i never knew how much i would relate to those lyrics now, mom. i will share my favorites.

“It well may be, that we may never meet again in this lifetime. So, let me say before we part, so much of me
Is made of what I learn from you. You’ll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart”

i will never forget the most kind, resilient person you are. you always helped people. no matter who, what, when, where, or why. you were a great friend, and an even greater mother. in times we had absolutely nothing, you gave us the world. you made me who i am.

i am so lucky i got a chance to be loved by such an amazing human being for my whole life. 19 whole years of unconditional, unceasing love.

no matter how angry i may be that i had to lose you so so early, i rejoice that God gave me even this little bit of time with you. that i could look like you. that i could learn from you. that i could be so much like you. you are the best mom ever. you gave me everything.

i’m going to miss you so so dearly, but remember “because i knew you, i have been changed for good.”

i will never forget the love you endlessly poured out for me, matt, jack, and charlie.

until we meet again in heaven, my beautiful, sweet, loving, amazing mother. i love you.

with ALL of my love,

if you know me, you know i love to travel.

if you know me more, you know that my mom and i have had this trip in mind for a while.

this fall break, i was able to go on my first solo trip, to a place we wanted to go together, but never got the chance to.

i miss her every day, but things like this make me feel just a little closer to her. 🤍
