Phase two of my studio was to design a Point of Purchase (POP) display for my sub-brand. The goal of this display was to be appealing to children as well as parents. For the child there are products at hip height for them to play with and use while the parents can watch a video about the benefits of the product system. by @emdashbydesign

Phase one of my Branding and Exhibit design studio is done! For this studio I am designing the brand identity along with a point of purchase display and trade show booth for a sub-brand I created. My parent brand is KitchenAid so I researched their brand identity to help create the sub-brand Starters!

Starters is providing child safe cooking tool and educational materials for children ages 5 - 12 that hopes to inspire the next generation of makers! taken in Wallace Hall Industrial Design Studio by @emdashbydesign

A recap of my internship at @carehumanesociety

This summer I had the pleasure of working with Jenny Warren, the director of development for CARE Humane Society along with Ella Rosenblatt as a fellow intern to raise awareness for the pets in the shelter and ways the public could support or any events that we had going on!

One of the major things I did this summer was updating the website. It was not user-friendly (especially on mobile) or aesthetically pleasing. It was functional and did it's job, but it definitely had a room for improvement. So, I came in and asked Jenny if it was all right if I worked to update the website, consolidate pages, and overall make it more mobile friendly. She was excited to have someone to take it on, so I started working on getting feedback from users, both general public and the staff on what they wanted updated. I took that feedback and have designed the site you can currently see today at carehumane.org!

There's still more I want to do and I plan to stay on as a website intern while I'm here at Auburn just wait to get back to CARE and also help using it as this is a way for me to grow my portfolio, especially as my first "solo" piece as a designer. Overall I am proud of what I have managed to accomplish and learn this summer.

I also adopted a dog and so if you end up seeing me design a ton of pet things, especially in school projects, over these next couple years that would be why. Her name is Cimarron and she is the best dog. taken in CARE Humane Society by @emdashbydesign

Here's some of my favorite photographs I've taken over the years.

For the photography nerds here, I shoot on a Sony a6400 and mostly use either my fixed lens(can't remember the distance rn) or my zoom lens. by @emdashbydesign

Last project I was tasked to take my blender design from earlier this semester and apply the visual aesthetic and language of an existing brand of our choosing. I chose to go with KitchenAid, creating a sub-brand focused on creating counter top appliances for children learning to operate in a kitchen. This was super fun to do and a nice way to end the semester looking back at a previous project by @emdashbydesign

3 years down, 2 more to go 🧡💙

I can't believe I've been in the program and with these people for a year now, it's been a blessing getting to know everyone and watching them grow. I'm grateful for the lessons I have learned and excited for the new opportunities I will have these next two years here at Auburn.

It may have taken me a while to find my place here at Auburn, but I think I've finally found my people. I hope I'm making little Emma proud. taken in Wallace Hall Industrial Design Studio by @emdashbydesign

Family of individuals- A tea-set

My final major project of the semester! Can't believe it's almost over already. For this project I was tasked with designing a tea set that had a cohesive look to it while still letting each element have its own unique characteristics. I drew inspiration from the retro-futurism design of the 50's and 60's, while also making the pieces have an element of organic form to them.

This project challenged me as a design as it was my first time using CAD and I had very little constraints other than make a tea set that looks good. I have definitely learned a lot over the past two weeks during this process and have applied most of the design ideas and fundamentals I have learned this year in my studios. I'll have an end of year post here in the next few weeks, but it has been amazing what all I have learned since starting last summer and the skills I have gained. by @emdashbydesign
