I haven’t ever really been the type of guy to be insecure about how I present myself. It’s not that I believe myself valuable or worth it, I’ve just always thought the only way to wholeheartedly succeed and be happy in the entertainment industry was to express authenticity and vulnerability. With Dmitry, all of that went out the window. Instead of allowing myself to fail and grow like usual, I let the self-imposed pressures of critical perception get to me, leading me down a never ending spiral of self doubt and major imposter syndrome.
At Dress the day before the Jocis, it hit at an all time high. The talent I heard echoing in the Majestic caused me to go onstage and impose instead of belong. I tried impressing instead of story telling. No one noticed, but I did- My art is my air. I went home feeling blank. Then it hit me. The next day was Sunday. I went backstage, got in costume, went onstage, and for the first time in too long, I performed. I told my story through the words, experiences, and physicalities of Dmitry, and smiled internally. I didn’t audition, I performed. Then I got chips and queso with Derek Klena. All this yap to say this: Pride is not something that can be gifted to you through the words and actions of others - - You have to love the air you breathe before you can sustain it, and you have to love the art you’ve lived through before healthily singing it to an unlit audience- because you never know what untold stories are watching from up in the balcony. taken in The Majestic Empire Foundation by @emei.ghan

Super excited to announce I’ll be attending University of Michigan in the fall for a BFA in Acting!

This audition process has been insane lol.

Huge thanks to my mom, as I would not have been able to even fathom this reality without you, my family, friends, and to my directors/teachers for letting me absorb your knowledge and experience in this industry. I am nothing but grateful and yearning to grow.
