Ok, this one is Special. My teenage daughter's first Poster! The band has a cool song called "... the Sword". Poster was her concept and she drew it. They wanted something cute but raw. Die Spitz is a new all grrrl 4 piece punk/metal/grunge band from Austin that were recently signed by Jack White. A tour of England in 2025 attracted the attention of Metal Hammer, which called Die Spitz "the best new band in the world."
Paste magazine has praised Die Spitz as "the real, explosive deal, unleashing some of the best rock and roll that Gen Z has to offer." And Spin Magazine has called the band "one of the most riotous new live bands on the planet." So, thank you for the opportunity. #gigposter #silkscreen #diespitz by @emek_studios

"Hearts & Mines" hand drawn artwork for Foos Chicago (they actually have a full-size World War II submarine in the museum in Chicago) Really proud of my brother GAN for taking the lead on this project and making this artwork. Took months to draw and fine tune... Dave Grohl's guitar as an anglerfish, all the band portraits in the submarine, all the musical instruments to make the submarine, the water effects, the heart mines, etc etc.…

In ancient Greece, the lyre was a stringed musical instrument associated with the god Apollo, symbolizing passion and creativity.
But it also invoked enchantment and sorrow, like the famous myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, showcasing the lyre's power to influence emotions. Orpheus was in love with Eurydice but she was taken by Hades- god of the underworld. Upon losing his wife, Orpheus sang his grief with his lyre so strongly that he managed to move everything, living or not, in the world; both humans and gods learnt about his sorrows. Orpheus descended to Hades by music to try to free his wife. Any other mortal would have died, but Orpheus played with his lyre a song so heartbreaking that even Hades himself was moved to compassion. The god told Orpheus that he could take Eurydice back with him, but under two conditions: she would have to walk behind him while walking out from the caves of the underworld, and he could not turn back to look at her as they walked. We all know the tragic end.
Orpheus died from his sadness and loss and his lyre was placed into the sky among the stars.
This is but one tale of the lyre depicted in ancient stories and art, showcasing music's importance in Greek society and mythology. So that’s why I included it as a timeless monument to music and its power… and the immortal Robert Smith as a musical Diety amongst Apollo and Orpheus.
