After a crazy few months, I thought it might be time for a little reintroduction (before things get crazier again!).

So hi, I'm Alicia, I'm a mum in my thirties and an interior design enthusiast who loves all things colourful! Three months ago, we moved into our next renovation project (it might just be our forever home), and a week before we got the keys we found our baby number two was joining us in November.

Here's the new house tour! 🏡

It's another terraced (couldn't resist the charm tbh), but this time there's a lot more space and quite a lot more to do. The bones of the property are absolutely gorgeous and I can see so much potential - I'll be restoring as many period features as possible and can't wait to get creative with colour.

ad I loooove the Autumn months but one thing I really struggle with is focus during the darker mornings, so I headed to @homesense_ukie this weekend to check out their remedies for those winter homeware challenges - from low energy to feeling cooped up.

With a combination of soft throws, mood lighting, that perfect autumn scent, personal touches, the cosiest of coffee mugs and some key organisation pieces, I’ve created a space that I can’t wait to sit down at each morning - whatever the weather outside!

We're six months into our renovation (time's flown but I also feel like we've always lived here?!) and here's some before and afters so far. It's been a LOT of work but with a baby due next month I've felt determined to get through as much as possible.

I've restored and replaced as many original features as we could (the fireplace in the living room is a personal fave, sourced from the same year the house was built), added in a lot of colour and (hopefully) have made a start on creating a fun and cosy family home.

Some of the colour schemes I've used in my home (so far!) ⬆️

I love having a colourful home but for me, it's so important to keep it cohesive - so although each room has its own individual colour scheme, you can see on slide one that each scheme pulls elements from another. Although all the rooms are different, the whole house feels like it still matches.

This house gets loads of natural light so I'm definitely leaning towards warmer tones, but I'd definitely like to bring a bit more green back with my next few projects. Lots of love for blue in this home, too!

Done by December - part four 🎄

This week, we're starting to pick up presents here and there but most importantly, we're stocking up on wrapping paper! My top tip is to wrap individually as you go, make a small note on each present so you know whose is who and then pop 'em straight in the loft (or wherever you're keeping them).

I'm also using my spreadsheet from week one and ticking off as I go so I've got track of everything I've already got, budgets, any ideas I have and what's left to get.

When I'm all finished and ready to pop them under the tree (or on Christmas Eve), I get everything out and tie them into neat little packages or gift bags per person. Quick, easy, and all sorted in advance! 🎁

Done by December is my series where I'm getting all of my Christmas admin done by mid November when baby number two is due, but if you follow along a week or so behind me you'll be all done by December 1st too so you can actually relax and enjoy the festive season ✅

ad A very special few days with @myjoolz and @bumppr ✨

It’s been such a hectic time at home with all things renovation and tbh, I’ve felt really stressed about preparing for baby number two’s arrival (in less than two months!) so it was WONDERFUL to be invited to spend a few days to celebrate the launch of Joolz’s newest pram - the Day5 - and just focus on prepping for the next chapter.

This room has been, without a doubt, the most difficult room I've ever tried to redesign (swipe to the end for a 'before'). It's quite small and it doesn't have any of those original features I love so much, but the dining room really is the hub of our family home so it was really important to get it right.

A standard dining table just didn't fit here so this corner seating works really well, and I loooove how the colours in the room transform from morning through til evening. The only thing I'm stuck on is these bare walls you can see - we have the large print to one side which I love but I'd love to get something else on the other walls, and I'm not sure more prints would work. What do you think?!

ad My big bathroom makeover has been one of my * favourite * projects to date - I’ve considered every single detail, from statement pieces down to what scents I'm using throughout the room.

While some of my non-negotiables have been quite the splurge, the affordable little luxuries like these @mossandadams products are a great way to add character and colour throughout the seasons 🧡💚
