One year ago today, I dislocated my hip, fractured my pelvis, and underwent ORIF hip surgery. I was told I might never play rugby league again. My whole world was flipped upside down. Rehab was brutal. Learning to walk again, fighting through pain, setbacks, and the mental toll of starting from zero. Watching others train, play, and achieve things I wasn’t sure I’d ever do again... it broke me more than the injury did. There were days I couldn’t move without help, but I kept pushing. Slowly, step by step, I rebuilt what was broken. Today, I’m not just walking, I’m playing the sport that I truely love. I wouldn’t have made it without my support system. My family, friends, teammates, physios, and coaches who never let me give up, even when I wanted to. You all reminded me of who I was when I forgot. This comeback means more than just being back on the field. It’s about resilience, patience, and proving to myself that I’m stronger than I ever knew.❤️ by @emiah.stokess
