LAST NYC POST ✌🏻 It’s been a long journey to become a resident of nyc, something I have dreamt of since I was a child. On my final day as a nyc resident. I visited the one place that started it all, 76 Christopher Street. From 1974 to 2014, 76 Christopher Street was home to Boots & Saddle, my grandfathers bar (better known as Pa). For those of you who know me well, Pa is my idol in life, my role model, my whole heart. Ever since I can remember Pa and I would go into New York City and I would go into the bar with him. It may be strange to picture a 4 year old girl growing up and having her favorite memories be going into a bar in the west village to help her Pa count money, but those are the memories that define who I am. I can close my eyes and relive those memories as if they were recorded. My biggest dream was always to live in nyc and manage the bar. Unfortunately after relocating, the bar closed its doors for good on 2/2/2018. My nyc residency didn’t go as planned, and I knew in my gut my expectations would never be met without the bar operating. While a part of my heart will forever yearn for the bar to reopen, a part of it is healed knowing that there is a business operating at this address. Customers get to walk up the same 3 steps as when it was once Boots & Saddle. The memories we create are forever even if the places are not. Until next time NY. 🫶🏻🗽 by @emiilycarey
