Kenz,

I still don’t even know how to begin writing this because none of it feels real. I keep staring at pictures of you and replaying memories in my head, wishing somehow this was all just a bad dream and that I could call you tomorrow and hear your laugh again.

You were truly the most beautiful person I’ve ever known. I don’t think you ever realized the impact you had on people because being kind came so naturally to you. You loved people so well and had a way of making them feel seen, valued, and completely themselves. Whether someone had known you for five minutes or five years, you made them feel like they mattered. Being your friend was one of the greatest gifts, and life was simply better with you in it.

I’ll always hold onto memories of us screaming our favorite songs in the car, singing Hannah Montana at the top of our lungs, competing together in Daytona, dancing on countertops at Stadium View, boat days, laying in bed with your cats lol, late night vent sessions, dancing in the bathroom at Paddy’s, our matching tattoos, and our random inside jokes that definitely made no sense to anyone else. I’m so thankful Iowa State brought you into my life and that I got to call you my best friend.

One of the greatest gifts of my life was having you stand beside Cooper and me on our wedding day. When I look back at those photos, I don’t just see a bridesmaid. I see one of the people I loved most in this world. Someone who showed up for me through every season of life.

I find comfort knowing you are with God now, but selfishly, I wish we had more time.

Thank you for loving people as deeply as you did and for making all of us feel so lucky to be loved by you. You were one of a kind, Kenz.

I will miss you for the rest of my life, and I will love you for the rest of it too.
