Happy Pride Month! Painting a zen doodle with pride flag colors was a perfect way to reflect on why we have this designated month in the first place. I support the LBGTQ+ community ✌🏻 🏳️‍🌈. If you haven’t seen Zen Doodles before I highly recommend checking out @liziphoenix who introduced me to the practice. And also used a Lamali Notebook for her watercolors. I know I show a lot of beautiful, expensive tools here, but most days look like this…
Morning fountain pen practice, basic drills, and figuring things out slowly.

I’ve been using an Asvine V126 fountain pen with a fine nib, ink with Diamine Earl Grey, in a Stalogy 365 notebook for daily warm-ups. These fountain pen drawing practice drills help with motor control so when I draw in my planner or journal, the lines actually go where I want them to.

Sketchbooks exist for planning, testing, and practicing. Not everything needs to be precious.
This budget fountain pen setup works wonderfully. A perfect casual setup that everyone should have. Or even a beginner setup. My first setup looked really similar 🩶 Links in Bio 😉 by @emilpops

With 2026 days away, it’s time for my planner and journal setup to come together. Final decisions are made and the stack is officially happening.

This year includes my Sterling Ink Common Planners B5 A5 A5 slim B6, a new 5 year diary, my Hobonichi, the Magnet Planner, and a Louise Carmen leather journal that will hold ideas outside of planning. It’s a hefty stack and still not the full picture of my planning and journaling system, since art and sketchbooks live elsewhere.

This is just the first round, but it’s enough to feel ready.

A blood and ash zen doodle right on time for spooky season 🩸💀. This was the most satisfying style. Watching the colors bleed into each other. It became more about making that happen than keeping the lines consistent. Still my favorite power couple ⚡️. I enjoyed this creative fun last year and couldn’t resist a revisit of Frankenstein’s Monster and Bride of Frankenstein.
