This time last year and for most of the four years prior, I was praying God would bring me home early. I had been anxious and depressed for so long that it felt like any gasp of air was quickly followed by another crashing wave (dramatic I know). I guess you could say I had a real “come to Jesus” moment in January when I decided to take a break from school. It was the first choice I had made completely for me in a long time, and it barely felt like a choice. I moved home, transferred schools, and worked every odd job possible. I realized school and work should never be life or death. My only plan was to say yes to things I wouldn’t normally and see where it led.

Ultimately, through one of my dog sitting escapades, my cousin, Robyn, recommended me to @dkgallerist to be the new Saturday gallerina. I could not believe how perfect this job was for me and I felt it was way too good to be true.

After a few months of trying to finish school from home while working all my piecemeal jobs, I realized school really wasn’t for me right now.

Come February 1st, I will be starting full time as the gallery manager at @dkcontemporarygallery and I couldn’t be more thankful and excited! Thank you so much to all my friends and family who have loved me through all my sad, often mean, dark times and to Donna and Krista for helping me blossom in my new journey. Thank you Jesus and, sorry to anyone who thought this post might be a light read. by @emily.c.wolfe
