Envelope szn 🖤 Also, I don’t know how other calligraphers do it but this is my solution to envelopes that will have vintage stamp sets on them, just measure out the dimensions and make a little template to tape to each envelope, easy peasy!

After the fastest, but also slowest nine months of my life, I am officially on maternity leave! Baby isn’t here quite yet but we are getting ready and making sure I don’t leave any clients in a lurch if I were to go into labor 🙃 My plan is to be back at least slowly starting in May but since this is our first baby and we have no idea how this all works, it’s probably going to be an ever changing process and I am just thankful for a job that will allow for that flexibility. If you have any questions at all about availability in May and beyond, just reach out via email and I will get back to you when I can! This isn’t exactly a year end wrap up, but also, maybe it kind of is? At the very least it’s the biggest thing that’s happened for us in the past year.

Four and a half years ago, we made the exciting decision to try for a baby. We kept up hope that it would happen but, like many couples, it just didn’t. Infertility sucks. It’s lonely and the monthly heartbreak is heavy. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, and the trauma doesn’t go away just because you get pregnant. To those who are going through it, I’m so sorry.

You’ve heard the stories about IVF (or lived them yourself), and maybe I’m just looking back with rose colored glasses (classic me), but I feel so grateful that this was the way we had to make our baby. It’s so hard, and emotional (so emotional!), and overwhelming, but also the most magical. There are many moments and memories from this past year that I am so thankful I have that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. And now we finally get our little baby! While our family would have been complete and fulfilling with just the two of us, we are pretty excited for this little sweetheart to join along for the ride.

(It’s also not lost on me that we are so incredibly fortunate that IVF was even a possibility for us. It’s financially prohibitive for so many people and I will never take that privilege for granted. Additionally, we were so beyond lucky that it all worked for us on the first try. So many couples have to go through cycle after cycle and still may never be successful, and I am well aware of how lucky we are.) by @emilyahowell
