My heart has broken again. Just 4 days after losing EJ, we also lost Teddy so suddenly, only a week earlier we were playing around the neighbourhood, having so much fun together. Teddy had a rough life, but once he joined our family, he was so loyal to us, brought us so much joy and I saw how happy he was with all of us as well. My heart aches and I will miss this special boy. 🥺🐾💖 by @emilybarner

EJ was our first ever cat. She came to us just over 10 years ago in a rain storm. When I went to open up our Borneo Tribal Squad Gym to get ready for classes, she was a little lost, crying kitten. We looked all over to reunite her with her mom, with no luck, so she joined us at first in the gym, sitting by the kick bags watching Muay Thai classes never scared of the noise and commotion, sleeping through jiu jitsu and enjoying the cuddles from students. When we took her home, she would jump up by the TV when we watched MMA to watch it as well. We named her EJ after us (Emily Jumat). She was a loner yet our young rescue kittens always seemed drawn to her. She's been with us through multiple moves and changes, watching our Pyro family grow. Today she left us and my heart is shattered. I loved her so much and this just aches to my very core. After 32 days of boarding and treatment at the clinic, Reiko has finally been discharged.

Reiko’s medical bill of RM3,312.00 has been fully paid! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed and made this possible.

Reiko is still recovering and needs nutritious food, supplements, and daily supplies. I truly appreciate your continued support and donations to help care for him until he finds his forever home.

Please adopt Reiko. If no one adopts him, I will have no choice but to return him to the streets as part of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) mission.

My rented home was never meant to be a shelter. It is already overcrowded with six rescue dogs, and I simply don’t have any space left. I also can’t afford to take in another permanent rescue due to ongoing financial strain.

If you can give Reiko a loving forever home, please get in touch. He deserves a safe and happy life. Please adopt Reiko or at least share this post.

✨ Almost exactly one year ago, I was awarded my brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. 🥋✨

If you told my younger self that her 50-year-old self would still be rolling, still competing, still chasing the dream of a BJJ black belt… she would be over the moon with pride!

I may not train like I did at 30 or 40, but this journey has never been about the destination, it’s about the lessons, the resilience, and the joy always learning and always moving along the way.

To everyone who has taught me, rolled with me, encouraged me, and reminded me that the mat is a place of growth thank you. 🙏 A huge thank you to my husband Professor @ajpyro for making me train 😅 It's true, we all need a push. And for Professor @adam.s.kayoom.23 for being one of the world's best BJJ Profs - so honoured to be learning under you!

We didn’t plan to rescue another… but we couldn’t leave him behind.

During our road trip to Kota Belud for Eid Raya, we found a tiny, sick kitten at the Tamu. Surrounded by so many stray dogs, he didn’t stand a chance. Weak, alone, and struggling—he would not have survived.

We named him Tupawc Shapurr.

We took him straight to the vet. Alhamdulillah, he tested negative for parvo. But he is still fighting—flu, eye infection, and painful skin infections on his ears and head. He has started treatment and is now on medication.

Right now, we are fostering him… but we are already beyond our limits. At home, we are caring for 22 rescue cats and 5 rescue dogs, many of them with special needs.

Still, how could we walk away from him?

Tupawc deserves a chance to live, to feel safe, to be loved.

We are hoping someone will open their heart to adopt or foster him. And if you’re unable to, any contribution towards his food, supplements, and upcoming vet bills would help us keep going for him… and for the many others still depending on us.

Please don’t let Tupawc’s story end where we found him.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

Our dearest baby, Olga — a rescued soul — has returned to Allah. She fought a long and difficult illness with so much strength.

No more pain, sweet Olga. You are finally at peace.

Seven years old… seven years of love, loyalty, and beautiful memories.

Sharkie J and Yan are wrestling! Both are our rescue cats. Yan is being a big brother to Sharkie J, who is still a kitten—he wrestles gently with him. Meanwhile, Pawziah and Dua’ were watching nearby.

Moments like this always bring so much joy to the house. Having rescue cats at home fills the space with life, warmth, and laughter. They turn ordinary moments into something special.

Rescue cats are also incredibly loving and grateful. Many of them came from difficult situations, so when they finally feel safe and cared for, their affection is genuine and heartwarming. They remind us daily about compassion, patience, and kindness.

Giving a rescue cat a home means giving them a second chance at life. In return, they bring endless companionship, comfort, and unconditional love. Our home truly feels more alive because of them.
