For those of you who know the Ivies, you will realize I cheated on Yale today with quite a Prince(ton).

I am enamored by their Oxfordesque doorways and arches. I got lost in the coziness of the quads. It was grand and beautiful.

And an hour and a half with Monet, Rodin, Kandinsky, and Basquiat, to name a few, was not too shabby at their spacious museum & without the Manhattan entry fee.

Though I have allegiance to Hansome Dan and Yale, Princeton has a special place in my mind.

If in NJ, drive out for a visit. It isn't New Haven, but the square has wonderful shopping and coffee (@smallworldcoffee) is a delight and, of course, the wonderful campus. Don't say I said so🤫

Charleston. Oh, how I love thee. These photos do not do it justice. Some of them do not capture the whole of the building. Some were taken quickly. But I am inspired by doorways and arches and tall and beautiful old buildings with plaques where history that's very important happened right where I stood.

It was only 3 days, the next time I would like to explore more beaches and islands and restaurants.

If I can think of one retirement spot besides the south of France, it would be the Charleston area.

Fine folks, food, and beauty at every turn.

Free Opera on the quad in front of the Met. What a beautiful Labor Day weekend treat!♥️ A New Yorker moment, to say the least.

I rarely give movie reviews, perhaps because it is not my expertise. But we watched Tuner tonight via Demand. Very, very good. It is kind of tragic, very interesting, and it kept us captivated. Short synopsis: it is about a young piano tuner who is an apprentice to Dustin Hoffman. The Tuner (guy in the picture) has a special hearing condition. Though he had perfect pitch, was a virtuoso at one point and was an excellent Tuner, this impediment got him involved in some unsavory business.

It is a must-see. The cast is excellent. Dustin Hoffman- Need I say more?? , Leo Woodall (pictured) and Tovah Feldshuh, who is a big Broadway person and has been in a variety of films, shows, and plays. You will definitely know her when you see her.

I am only into a couple of directors, so I am not well versed in that area. But for those who have an interest in directors, it was directed by Daniel Roher, an Oscar winning documentary maker.

If you want to stay out of the summer or have a nice night in, it is worth the 5.99 rental fee. Enjoy~

Do you ever have words come to your mind and they just stay there? The word bucolic has been on my mind a lot lately. I pulled this picture up immediately.

This was taken 2 yrs ago at a small, quaint winery in Va wine country. This place brings a lot of peace and joy to me, and I barely drink the wine. I don't drink my calories ! I have been back since this picture for the hospitality and scenery alone.

I support them by buying their food and maybe a glass of wine here and there. I always invite people who are more into vino than I. I go there nearly every time I spend more than a few days in the area.

Anyhow, these rolling hills come to mind when I think of the word bucolic. What picture comes to your mind?

A glorious iced coffee cube before pouring my cold brew at one of our favorite breakfast spots in Hoboken @turningpointrestaurants . I did not grow up drinking coffee like kids of today. I was a parent before it became a daily habit. If you are a Java enthusiast, when did you start the coffee bean routine?

I am in the middle of a book, and I am starting another. But I must see what this is all about. I heard of this year's ago. And then a young man living in Paris brought this book up, and his review was so compelling, so here I go.

Have you read it?

Happy Sunday, everyone. I had a short hiatus from social media, but I am back!

In addition to literature and grammar and coffee, I will be sharing my other favorite subject, cats.

This is Chaunce(y) Cougar Mellencat. He is our main heart at the moment. The bodega put him out a month ago, and we let him come in when our half feral/half tame kitty, Sasha, goes out. We put Alexandra our other kitty in a room and let Chaunce explore. Or sleep. Or cuddle.

We are actively looking for a home for him. He is the 3rd cat we have worked on getting adopted from these horrible people who think cats are fun to get and discard. He is so special, and we really want to keep him. We just don't know if he can coexist with the others. They are afraid of him because of his size, and he is very vocal and likes to get close to people and animals. Most importantly, he is lovely.

We feed 5 others outside and are working on getting them fixed and getting shots so we can control this cat overpopulation in our area. I will feature one kitty a week to remind others that cats are more than just furry animals running through yards and hiding behind cars.

Cats have different personalities and different ways of moving through this world, and they are living beings. Worthy of love and care. If you agree, fine. If you do not, I frankly do not care:).

I will leave you with a quote on this fine and beautiful day-

There are two means of refuge from the misery of life — music and cats.

I really enjoyed watching the documentary called The Debutantes, filmed in 2024, directed by Contessa Gayles. It is about bringing back the tradition of black cotillions. It is an enlightening film bringing awareness about black women and societal struggles. Being Emily Chillmore, cotillions and presenting young ladies to society are right up my alley.:)
