One of the places I loved the most in Morocco was Akchour. Near Chefchaouen, this simple town embraced me as if it were a reflection of Minas Gerais - Brazil, an echo of lands that are part of my ancestral memories.

As I walked through its streets, I felt the earth beneath my feet as if it had always been mine. I was welcomed by people with generous hearts who, without hesitation, opened their doors, their stories, and their tables to me. They shared with me the flavors of their land, the secrets of their culture, and an affection that can only be found where life still flows unhurriedly. During the day, I had companions who lit my path, and at night, I carried with me the certainty that the true essence of a journey is not in maps but in the bonds woven along the way.

Traveling alone has taught me that the present is the most precious destination.

One of the most breathtaking sights I’ve ever seen. I was deeply moved by the grandeur and silence of this place, where art and faith intertwine in perfect harmony.

☪︎ The Hassan II Mosque, rising majestically over the waters of Casablanca, is the largest in Africa and one of the largest in the world. Built over seven years by 10,000 artisans, every detail was crafted with devotion—stone by stone, tile by tile. Funded by the generosity of the Moroccan people, it stands as a true symbol of collective faith.

Named after King Hassan II (1961-1999), the mosque reflects his vision of a sanctuary blending tradition and modernity. Built over the Atlantic, it echoes the Quran: "And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days, while His Throne was upon the water." (Surah Hud 11:7).

I left this place with deep reverence and gratitude. taken in Mosque Hassan II, Casablanca, Morocco by @emilyfmartins
