Bored on a train? 🚂 Never.

Charcoals are a portable and easy to apply medium with great versatility. And they’re also cheap. Combined this makes them a great art supply especially if you are starting out and want to quickly get some ideas down.

Where I drew a goose with a technique I often like to use: you first smudge down a base layer of charcoal, then sketch out the idea. You then use a rubber to remove highlights, and press down with the charcoal to make darker shapes and shadows. Creating contrast in your art is important to make the form come alive.

If you’re new here then ⭐️WELCOME⭐️, I give tips and tricks for creating art and show my work with the meaning behind each piece. It’s lovely to see new faces and the returning faces too. Make sure to follow along if you like what you see 😋.
