Jas, my angel. My bestfriend. Smartest person I know. A walking ray of sunshine.

How do I begin to write something like this? I keep messaging you just hoping you’ll message me back… This can’t be real. It can’t be.

Part of me left with you, the world feels dull and the feeling of your absence is indescribable. The impact you left is admirable and something that will inspire me for the rest of my life.

You lived with so much light and passion. Rooms lit up when you entered, peoples moods improved, colours were brighter, life was kinder. You embodied beauty, love, passion, light…

Everything you did was done gracefully, patiently, kindly, and beautifully. You truly inspired others and have left the most beautiful mark on this world, one that will never fade or be forgotten.

Thank you for your endless love, support, care, and thank you for being the best friend a person could ever ask for. You will be my bestfriend forever. That will never change.

Everything I do now will be for you. I will live for you. I will do everything I can to make you proud. I will do whatever it takes to make you smile down on me from above. I will be strong for you.

It’s been a really long year without you
I think about you everyday

You’re always on my mind & I find myself asking the same questions over and over

I wonder if you know how big of an impact you’ve had on not only my life, but every persons life you were in

I wonder if the person who moved into your apartment fills it with as much love & laughter as you did

I wonder if the little signs I get are actually from you or if I’m looking for anything to be a sign from you

I wonder when the next time you’ll visit me in my dreams is

I wonder what you’re up to, where you are, & what you’re doing

& there are some things that I know for certain and don’t need to wonder; wherever you are I know you’ve made friends, I know you’re dancing, & I know you’re looking down on us

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I’ve seen you

I’ll see you again someday

Dad, 20 years ago today our lives changed forever.
20 years is a long time to miss someone, to think about the memories we could have made, & remembering the precious ones we do have. I was 5 the last time I saw you or hugged you, I’m 25 now.
Even with 2 decades passing, the love and feeling of missing you never has.

Jas, it’s been 6 months since you’ve been gone. That’s half a year without seeing you smile, hearing you laugh, talking to you, hugging you, & being in your warm presence.

As the days & months go by, your memory & impact on me only grows larger. The love & memories in my heart will never go away.

There are so many things that have happened since you’ve been gone that I would have loved to tell you. Things we could have talked about together for hours (& laugh & cry & complain about too)

Jas, you’re the light when there was no sun. The melody in complete silence. You added the colour to an otherwise grey world. You carried me through my darkest times, wiped away my tears, & then showered me with your love.

To have a friend like Jas is to win the lottery. I am lucky to have known you Jas, and honoured I get to hold you in my heart forever. I will love & miss you beyond my days. My bestfriend forever. I hope you’ve been okay. The Christina to my Meredith ❤️
