my heart hurts.

exactly one year ago from yesterday i received this letter from callie in the mail. and if you had told me then that in one year to the day i would be sitting in her and her dads special spot second row in their beautiful church at her funeral i would have thought you were insane. safe to say it is now the most precious thing i own and i will cherish it forever. i love you more than life callie.

these last two weeks have been a living hell. who knew how fast your life could flip upside down. everyone who ever knew my sweet best friend callie could tell you how much of a light and true blessing she was to all of us.

to my favorite girl, my forever best friend, and the light of my life i love you so much and i cannot and do not want to fathom my life without you in it. truly the only person i never needed personal space from, the one who made me laugh harder than anyone, who brought a smile on days i couldn’t get out of bed. i have not been able to wrap my head around the fact we were just sitting and dying laughing, cuddling, gossiping, and talking about boys and life in my room a week before this happened. you were pure joy. an angel sent straight from heaven. but with that, it means you have to go back home too. i may not understand gods plan now but it eases the heartache to know you will be welcomed by jesus wholeheartedly with open arms. i cannot wait to see you again. forever my favorite cuddle buddy. i love you forever and always calliebae🩷 by @emilygravett

a year ago today i had to go to the hospital knowing i was saying goodbye. it was easily the hardest thing i’ve ever done, and tomorrow is a year since the kindest girl i’ve ever known became an angel
i’ve spent a lot of the past year writing to and about callie, and will spend the rest of it talking to and about her. i don’t this this will ever stop, i carry her with me and that will never change
