I’ve run a sub-5 mile every year since 2005 🤘🏼 I wasn’t about to let pregnancy end that streak. I’ve been feeling good and just shy of 6 months pregnant so decided it was a good time to go for it. I did 4x300 (51–53 on 60 sec rest) to help prep the legs and bc I wanted to join Karissa for a smidge of her sesh. Yesterday Max ran a 4:20 mile at the @nike PHK Track Invitational, 6 weeks after losing his dad suddenly.His mom flew in. I stood at the finish line 7 months pregnant trying not to ugly cry. We were all there for the same reason.Grief doesn’t pause. Life doesn’t pause. And sometimes the most profound thing you can do is lace up and run anyway.So proud of you, Max. Running through pregnancy has been one of the most humbling and beautiful experiences of my athletic career. I’m so grateful my body has allowed me to keep moving through so much of this journey.But lately it’s been a good reminder to slow down and listen to my body. Papa Infeld is taking on Boston ➡️ Big Sur!! That means he’s running 2 marathons in 6 days!! Also my parents are driving from CLE to Boston and back and then flying to Big Sur, and he just got out of working in the ICU (he’s a critical care pulmonologist on the side of running 🙃).Last year he turned 67 and decided he wanted to run a marathon in every state! He’s done 86 marathons or ultras since he started running them in his 40s 🤯 he’s tackled Boston a few times but really wanted to run @teambsmf for his Cali marathon 🤙🏼 I am sooo excited to be able to support him in Cali soon (he’s always been there to support my racing 😊 and nice to return the favor).
