“Vegas is not my scene.” This was my second trip to Sin City as an adult. Both times I found myself dreading it. I can’t stomach the wall of cigarette smoke that hits you the moment you step off the plane and never leaves. Can’t stay cool under the barrage of flashing lights and slot machine sounds, and the endless pavement. But this time, I decided to go in with curiosity and a sense of wonder. And it was magical. Sometimes you just have to decide. As Danny Ocean says, “when the odds change, you change.” by @emilyjoannimal
Fresh bottom, new engine, and a sunny fall sunday. 🍂 by @emilyjoannimal
We’ve had some wild storms the last two days! It’s been exciting to watch them brew in the distance and feel their power grow as they roll in. An intense reminder that we can only control our own thoughts, emotions, and actions. by @emilyjoannimal

Smitten 🥰 by @emilyjoannimal
Many hands make light work! I am floored by how much we got accomplished today and so so grateful to the 4 friends/family who gave up much of their Saturday to help. The first 5 pics are from a few weeks ago, just wanted to show the full transformation, but we literally tore out our entire kitchen today! We also removed our slider, built a half wall, and put in our fancy new window. AND we got our new range oven fully installed and running, with a temporary setup that makes our kitchen semi-operational. It’s a massive change but it’s gonna flow and function infinitely better for us. All this for a mudroom 😅 by @emilyjoannimal
This week has been fire. Actual fire. 🔥 Flames, molten metal, sparks, and the pure fiery passion of people who obviously love what they do and can’t wait to share it with others. Yesterday, my crew and I learned about the entire manufacturing process for cast iron bathtubs, shower walls, sinks, and engine components at Kohler, some of the rich history behind it, and the amazing people carrying its legacy forward. Then we got to watch aluminum die casting (which in liquid form looked like unicorn blood—iykyk) and lost foam casting (literal magic) of engine components at Mercury Marine and hear about some of the new technologies and engineering challenges they get to tackle every day. The magnitude of these operations was mind melding. Today, we went to Eck Industries and Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry where we saw more aluminum die casting on a smaller scale along with heat treating, grinding, machining, and even some in-process metal artwork with an insanely cool backstory with ancient Chinese roots. From massive machines and robots to intricate testing labs and processes, each location had its own vibe and niche. But all of them had insane amounts of experience, knowledge, and ingenuity. And everyone was so welcoming and friendly! My job is so awesome. These are a few shots I snapped on Curran Blevins’ camera. If you think these are good, just wait til you see what he and Ian Storck captured. So grateful to have such talented creatives on board for this adventure. Huge thanks to Bill Padnos at the Non-Ferrous Founders Society for pulling @marketingmetal in for this project. What an experience this has been! by @emilyjoannimal

How has it been 13 years since we tied the knot? Time sure does fly when you’re having fun! Of course we have our difficulties and slow days but we keep showing up, listening, and growing in our understanding of ourselves and each other. Love doing life with you @jwilk56 💖 by @emilyjoannimal
