Happy Halloween from Marion Ravenwood and Indiana Jones! Hope your festivities were fun and just as spooky as you like it! 🎃❤️🤎 by @emilylangerstudio
When it has been a stellar week for painting sales (thank you, everyone— truly!!! 🥹) you have a Friday evening varnishing party! In between the day job and taking my youngest to the Halloween dance tonight was a tiny bit of studio time to give these babies their final glow up! I am so excited for you all to get your paintings ❤️. Be watching the mail this coming week 🎉. Just in case you ever wondered if buying from a small artist really makes a difference, the paintings I sold this week are allowing me to go and visit my oldest daughter who is studying abroad and I am still just blown away by it! Ticket is booked and I can't wait to share more of my trip with all of you. What other paintings will come from this wonderful adventure? I am so excited to see. ☺️ by @emilylangerstudio
You know when you walk into that one house? The one that feels cozy, welcoming and lived in without feeling either cluttered or over decorated? (You all have one you're thinking of, I know it!!) It has the feeling of being collected over time, from hundreds of experiences that have all come together to make a space that no one wants to leave. I truly believe that bringing art into our homes has that power. It is almost always the finishing touch that brings a room together. As a thank you to everyone for all of your support over the past few weeks, I am running a website sale to help you get your home to that perfect, finished place before the in-laws arrive. *Everything* on my website is discounted 40% through Sunday, November 1st. Discount is applied at checkout. This will be my only sale through the end of the year, so if there has been something you've had your eye on, there couldn't be a better time! ❤️ www.emilylangerstudio (link also in profile). by @emilylangerstudio

Less than 24 hours left to see if I actually turned my art into a plane ticket to visit my daughter in Oxford! It's almost time, friends, and I couldn't be more excited! For those of you who may be new, welcome! I am an oil painting artist from New England who is auctioning off six original oil paintings to try and raise enough money to go and visit my daughter who is studying abroad in England. My 'Postcards From Oxford' collection is inspired by the snapshots and experiences she has been sending home from her time in Oxford. Whether I am able to make this trip happen or not, I have been so thankful for all of the support and kind words about my art that I have received since announcing the plan for this collection! Thank you! Together, I really think we can do it! Tomorrow is the big day. ⏳The Details: The auction opens on Instagram (in my profile), tomorrow, October 24th at 12 noon EDT. It will close at 7pm on Sunday, October 25th at 7pm EDT. I will make (6) *different* Instagram posts at 12 noon EDT, one for each painting in the collection. Can I tell you a secret? 🤫 I've always kind of loved a rainy day. It makes everything seem instantly cozier and there is something so peaceful about the way the world quiets when everyone else moves inside. There's a montage in the 1995 'Sabrina' when Julia Ormond is walking through the streets of Paris on a rainy day (tell me someone else knows what I'm talking about!) and even though that is a different city, that timeless beauty, enhanced by a rainy day, is what I was channeling when I painted this piece. It's the final painting in my 'Postcards From Oxford' series that I painted to try and raise enough money to go and see my oldest daughter who is currently studying abroad in England. A trip to see her is unfortunately not in my budget this fall and instead of rolling over and saying "Oh well" I decided to try and do something about it! This Saturday, October 24th at 12 noon EDT, I will open my auction of this painting and five others that are all inspired by experiences my daughter has been having while she has been in Oxford. Everyone who bids, whether they win a painting or not, will be entered into a drawing for an original oil painting of their choice! It would mean so much to me if you could give me a follow, mark your calendars, and tell a friend about this opportunity to become a collector of my art. Thank you for all of your support!❤️ 'Oxford Rain' 11" x 14" oil on panel 2026 by @emilylangerstudio
{Update: an eagle-eyed follower caught that this is actually painting #5 ! (I accidentally labelled it #4 in the reel.) Sorry about that!} Ok, is *this* actually my favorite?! Horse chestnuts (or buckeyes) are one of those things that immediately brings me back 20 years to the first house we lived in after we had our oldest daughter. She would go out to our backyard every year after the chestnuts fell and spend *hours* collecting them. When she sent this picture from England this fall, I knew I had to include it in my 'Postcards from Oxford' collection. A memory of home found in a place so far away. 🤎🌰 I'll be auctioning off this piece, and five others, this coming Saturday, at 12 noon EDT, to try and raise enough money to go and visit her while she is studying abroad in Oxford this semester. I appreciate everyone who has shared this, and followed me over the past few weeks, especially @elizabethoclare who is promoting this auction like it is her job (it's not, and I'm sure she has a zillion other things to do) but I am so, so grateful! 🙏🏻❤️ Tell me in the comments: do you have a strong memory association with horse chestnuts? (Also, had to keep @thekillers as the music for this reveal because Battleborn has been on repeat in my studio lately.) "Horse Chestnuts" 4" x 4" Oil on canvas 2026 by @emilylangerstudio
