I can’t believe it’s already been a week since we published Hacking Humanity by @laralewlew!

The book has already sparked great conversations (including interesting interviews with @thejeremyvine and @tvnaga on the BBC and Women’s Hour!) about how average person in the UK spends nearly a quarter of their lives in poor health(!) and how new developments in health technology can help us reverse that trend and live healthier lives for longer.

From tools that can help us take our health into our own hands right now to amazing developments in early cancer diagnosis, genetically tailored treatments and fascinating inventions that could soon change everything, Hacking Humanity will take you right to the cutting edge of health technology so that you can understand what’s coming next.

It’s been a fascinating project to work on and I loved working with Lara to help shape the story she wanted to share.

Ita brings a unique perspective on how we can better listen to our bodies, feel our desires and connect with each other.

It’s been a pleasure to be a part of her editorial team - from great conversations about ageing, beauty and sex education to learning exercises in the meeting room, working on this book has been unforgettable.

Happy publication day to @lucy.mangan for Bookish! 📚❤️

This memoir of Lucy’s reading life is a love letter to all of life’s literary joys - from staying up late to find out what happens next, to borrowing and hoarding new treasures from bookshops great and small, and discovering new things about ourselves and the world through reading.

From literary classics to steamy bonkbusters, and gripping thrillers - there’s no such thing as a guilty pleasure here. It’s like walking through the library of your dreams while a friend points out all of her favourites, why you might find them interesting, and the juicy gossip behind what makes each one special.

Being on the editorial team for this book was a delight - thank you to everyone at @squarepegbooks and @vintagebooks who helped make it a reality.

SWEET by @alexinaanatole just came out a couple weeks ago and it has been so satisfying to finally hold the finished book & bake from it!

What makes Alexina’s recipes special to me is how well they overdeliver on sophisticated flavours without requiring extra effort. Her taste, talent and vision really shine in this collection, and everyone who enjoyed the memorable and moreish desserts from BITTER will find lots to love here.

I celebrated publication by making the white chocolate, miso + sesame cookies and the famous milky bar basque (pictured) and I’m already hatching plans for what I’ll try making next…

My ‘kitchen project’ this weekend was making Claire Ptak’s Tequila Pumpkin Pie from Love is a Pink Cake 🥧 🧡🎃

@violetcakeslondon are making a beautiful meringue-topped version this season which looks gorgeous, but I just stuck with vanilla ice cream this time. by @emilynavert

Some pics from volunteering out in Bushy Park & Richmond Park this weekend ☀️

We tidied up some newly planted hedgerows and pulled ragwort out of the Richmond park fields (it’s toxic to deer and horses, and indeed anything else that tries to eat it.)

Got to see parts of the park that aren’t open to the public and so many butterflies out in the meadows! 🦋 by @emilynavert

A few weeks ago I volunteered at the @theroyalparks’ biannual hedgehog survey.
🦔🦔🦔
Last year I didn’t see any hedgehogs but this year my team found 3! Unfortunately the population is declining but the data is still valuable year after year. The Regent’s Park hedgehog population is one of the most studied in the world, and the information we collect helps support conservation in the parks and beyond. Plus, it’s kinda neat to spend a few hours in the park at night when no one else is there and hearing the birds as they wake up.
