Phoebe, my Lego-loving, Noah Kahan-listening, Sonic-obsessed bestie. You were the most beautiful, vibrant soul I think I had ever had the opportunity to love. Her presence in my life, and all of our lives, was valued and appreciated more than we ever got the chance to tell her. As someone who has shared some of the happiest and hardest moments with Phoebe, I’ve learned that we will never know the depth of another person’s thoughts and emotions. She did not want to share the darkness that clouded her mind in hopes that it would go away and she wouldn’t be looked at differently. Phoebe had a kind heart and one of the brightest personalities of anyone I knew, especially in the face of the hardships she had to go through. She was resilient and strong, not willing to let her friends share her pain. We often don’t realize that someone is going through so much until it’s too late. I know it’s cliche, but reach out to the people you care about. It is so important to tell our friends and family how much we appreciate them. As much hurt as I— and many of us— will have to face during this season of our lives, I will never once regret the time I shared with Phoebe. I am forever grateful to have had the chance to know such a wonderful person, and I hope she has finally found peace with our God above. I will love you forever, Pheebs. by @emilypaynee
