I’ve been dreading this post for such a long time because there aren’t any words to truly capture these last four years, let alone the last 18 years. What started as a dream became a reality and I’m so lucky to have lived it. Softball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. How do you say goodbye to a chapter of your life that has shaped you in every aspect. Softball has taught me confidence, it taught me how to handle adversity, it gave me my best friends and a family, and it made me the person I am today. Softball has given me my biggest blessings, my hardest days, and my biggest accomplishments. I wouldn’t be who I am without it, and I’m forever indebted to this sport. I’m so blessed to have something this special in my life that makes saying goodbye feel so impossible. This sport has been my home away from home, my happy place, and the only place I could feel at peace when everything felt crazy at times. Thank you softball for a very crazy ride, from the highest highs to the lowest lows, I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. #unc by @emilypertuit
